Though Ron DeSantis hasn’t even announced his candidacy for the presidency yet, a Trump-supporting super PAC has filed an ethics complaint against him with the Florida Commission on Ethics.
According to the 15-page complaint, the Trump super PAC, MAGA Inc., is calling on the commission to investigate DeSantis for allegedly “leveraging his elected office and breaching his associated duties in a coordinated effort to develop his national profile, enrich himself and his political allies, and influence the national electorate.”
Though publicly noncommittal, privately sources say DeSantis’ presidential candidacy for the upcoming presidential election is inevitable. As such, the complaint claims that DeSantis is “already a de facto candidate for President of the United States,” because he has been engaging in various activities, such as meeting with donors, reaching out to potential staff through his allies, and courting influential Republicans in early-voting states. The complaint requests that the commission take disciplinary action against DeSantis by either removing him from office, publicly censuring him, or imposing a fine.
Donald Trump has been intensifying his attack on DeSantis, who recent polls show is Trump’s strongest potential GOP challenger, for many weeks now. Has has used derogatory nicknames and attacked DeSantis’ previous policy positions on issues such as Florida’s COVID-19 response. Trump’s allies clearly recognize the threat DeSantis presents to Trump’s plans to win the GOP nomination in 2024, and are doing their part to try to help Trump stave off a challenge from the young and extremely popular governor.

Trump is such an asshat! He’s wasting political capital going after DeSantis. Every time I start leaning Trump again after a few good days he pulls this crap.

You know that this is not Trumps Super PAC, right? The headline is a lie.
I’m being discouraged by what Trump and his underlings are doing. Trump should welcome competition. It’s what made him great. I hate that we are hating on everyone that might look at other candidates besides Trump and undermining our party. I’m liking Trump less and less because he’s at the top picking on people who think the same way. If his message is good, he’ll win.
We sure are great at killing our own.
He makes the cut and I vote for him.
DeSantis wins, I vote for him.
Ramaswamay wins, I vote for him.
Denigrating opinions of other’s is going to split the party.

All Trump is doing is losing the 2024 election for Republicans. He is going to siphon off votes and tear the party apart publicly. If he truly cares, he can work in the background to help save this country. Instead, it’s all about him and his ego.

Good to see DeSantis flying above Trump’s guttersniping. He’s busy tending to the needs of the state he was elected and re-elected to serve.
I’m already sick of this friggin’ upcoming presidential election. I wish an asteroid would slam into Earth so the Republicans could try to talk the turd rollers into cancelling it for three or four hundred years.
It does make one consider the merits of a monarchy.

You got that right. I’m so damn sick of crooked, greedy and corrupt politicians on “both sides of the aisle”. They truly are the most brain damaged of the human race. They make ambulance-chasing shyster lawyers look like honest geniuses.

There you go again. Trump didn’t institute lockdowns. It was governors like DeSantis who instituted them. Same with mail-in ballots. That’s a state issue as well. But frothing at the mouth and ranting against “President Pfizer” is so much more fun than dealing with facts.
