Deace: Dear liberals, I’m sorry

I believe in finding the victory in any situation. Perhaps that is especially true when apologizing.

So here I am, prostrating myself before God and country, Naomi Wolf-style. In fact, I see her humility and I am inspired to follow her example. I’ve learned my lesson. I wish to be made clean. And here’s the kicker: I have liberals to thank for it.

They were stone-cold right about stuff like forever wars and corporate greed. I couldn’t see it back in my “we’re America, b****es” 1980s jingoistic days. It simply didn’t compute to me that a heinous act like 9/11, perpetrated by cave-dwelling jihadists, could be cynically fashioned into the longest military excursion to nowhere in American history. Or at the end of America’s Afghanistan story would be an unapologetic homage to America’s ignominious exit from Vietnam.

It was almost as if failure and embarrassment were the point all along.

Back here in the homeland, my Alex P. Keaton wannabe younger self would never have dreamed that the free market was about as honest and noble as the dark corner where crack addicts and prostitutes conduct their “commerce.” Because it turns out the “free market” largely doesn’t exist at all.

We live in a command economy, too, it’s just that we march at the command of the mutual admiration society forged by big government and big business. Like when we supposedly have a pandemic, big government miraculously determines the billion-dollar big box stores were all safe and essential to stay open. Meanwhile, the small and family-owned businesses were nonessential super-spreaders or something. This, not coincidentally, activated perhaps the single largest transfer of wealth in human history – to the already wealthy. Robber-baronism isn’t any holier than Marxism.

Marxism never worked anywhere. This is pretty lame.

He is talking about Liberals, not Democrats.

Liberals want to debate ideas, Democrats want to silence debate.

Joe Rogan, Russel Brand, Naomi Wolf and Even RFK Jr. are Democrats that won’t vote for Democrats.

We need more democrats like this.

Kay Ivey tells Alabamians to get vaccinated: ‘I can’t make you take care of yourself’

Alabama Governor Kay Ivey on getting Alabama residents to take a COVID vaccine
By William Thornton | wthornton@al.com
A fiery Gov. Kay Ivey made her most forceful statements yet today encouraging Alabamians to get the COVID-19 vaccine, saying “the unvaccinated folks are letting us down” in the fight to control the pandemic.

She also signaled she would not mandate students to wear masks when classes resume in Alabama’s public schools, saying that decision should be left up to school districts.

“Let’s be crystal clear about this issue,” Ivey said.

“Media, I want you to start reporting the facts. The new cases of COVID are because of unvaccinated folks. Almost 100% of the new hospitalizations are unvaccinated folks. And the deaths certainly are occurring with unvaccinated folks. These folks are choosing a horrible lifestyle of self-inflicted pain. We’ve got to get folks to take the shot.”

Ivey was in Birmingham this afternoon speaking at the opening of tech company Landing’s new headquarters, responding to questions from the assembled me
Calling the vaccines “the greatest weapon we have to fight COVID,” Ivey admitted some frustration in response to questions on what she can do to encourage more Alabamians to get vaccinated. Alabama is the only state in the nation with fewer than 40% of eligible residents vaccinated against COVID-19. Data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows just 39.6% of people 12 and older in Alabama are fully vaccinated.

In response to the question of what will take it get more people to take the vaccine, Ivey said, “I don’t know. You tell me.”

“Folks are supposed to have common sense,” she said. “It’s time to start blaming the unvaccinated folks, not the regular folks. It’s the unvaccinated folks that are letting us down....I’ve done all I know how to do. I can encourage you to do something, but I can’t make you take care of yourself.”

Unvaccinated people represent an overwhelming percentage of Alabama’s COVID deaths since April, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health. Alabama has recorded more than 500 COVID deaths since April 1. Of those, only 20 people were fully vaccinated, meaning slightly over 96% were unvaccinated.

In response to a question about mandating masks among school children, Ivey appeared to signal that would be a half-measure.

“I want folks to get vaccinated,” she said.

“That’s the cure. That prevents everything. Why do we want to mess around with just temporary stuff? We don’t need to just encourage people to go halfway with curing this disease. Let’s get it done. We know what it takes to get it done. Get a shot in your arm. I’ve done it. It’s safe. The data proves it. It doesn’t cost anything. It saves lives.”

Ivey received both shots of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in December. She called it “just the thing to do,” saying those who have received it should encourage others to receive the vaccine.

People must “take care of themselves and us as well. We can’t do that for them. All we can do is everybody take the shot for themselves, so encourage others to do likewise,” Ivey said.

Germany and Korea are the perfect laboratories for the capitalism vs Communism debate. One look at that famous nighttime satellite photo of the Korean peninsula provides irrefutable proof.

Why is Deace apologizing to the people who morphed the market into the command economy he laments? I don’t know who Deace is, I will go back to not knowing who he is.

Deace is a conservative and this piece is tongue in cheek. Its nuance apparently evaded many readers here.

It’s evident if you read the article. Deace is calling the liberals on their hypocrisy.

Of course, liberal hypocrisy is what turned me into a conservative in the ‘90’s. I learned that they weren’t against “the man”, they wanted to be “the man”.

Deace wrote a book advocating a Nurnenberg style trial for Fauci and Francis Collins and Debbie Birx and everyone else that activily tried to destroy America while covering up their mistakes playing God in a Chinese lab.

Deace is Rush Limbaugh in 1988. Nobody knew who he was back then. either.

No,that's not really true. The Korean Peninsula...North *and * South...is enveloped, on most days, in a filthy haze of chocking pollution courtesy of their neighbors in Red China.

My girlfriend is Korean and her son still lives there. Although he would love to exercise he can't because of that choking pollution.
