Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis implicitly hit at the 'daily drama' of the Trump White House in a new interview, where he brushed off the former president's chosen insult for him and cited the 'underlying conduct' of the Stormy Daniels 'hush' money agreement.
In a potential preview of the marquis 2024 Republican primary matchup, DeSantis spoke at length about what he described as fundamental shortcomings of his potential presidential rival, highlighting his strong reelection win and casting himself as preferring policy 'victories' over 'chaos.'
'I also think just in terms of my approach to leadership, I get personnel in the government who have the agenda of the people and share our agenda,' he told interviewer Piers Morgan in a sit-down interview at the Florida governor's mansion.
'You bring your own agenda in you're gone. We're just not going to have that. So, the way we run the government I think is no daily drama, focus on the big picture and put points on the board and I think that's something that's very important,' DeSantis said.
It was enough to draw a furious response from Trump's camp. 'Ron DeSantis has finally shown his true colors. An establishment Never Trumper who despises the MAGA base and was faking it the entire time,' tweeted Trump advisor Jason Miller.
DeSantis said he was 'fine' with Trump's nickname of Ron DeSanctimonious for him, with the Ivy League educated former Navy lawyer brushing off the slam by saying he doesn't know what it means.
'I don't know how to spell the sanctimonious one. I don't really know what it means, but I kinda like it. It's long, it's got a lot of vowels. We'll go with that, that's fine.'

I think he can do one or the other...but trying to do both simply means that many, perhaps most, Trump voters won’t lift a finger for him. You’d think he’d know that after seeing the McCain disaster in 2008...but I guess not (or maybe he does know it???)

I can’t blame Ron for standing up for himself…but rest assured it will be his time to go through the grinder soon enough he should be saying there will be enough time to debate Donald later on but it’s obvious if Donald’s last name was Smith he wouldn’t be doing this.

That said, Desantis has a point; if Trump wasn’t tittling around with whores, none of this would be happening.
Democrats are ecstatic. If DeSantis could have just controlled his ambition for a short time, a ticket of
Trump/DeSantis would have been very formidable. Instead Trump and DeSantis are exchanging broadsides which in the end is damaging the country and making it more likely the criminal Biden cabal will continue to ruin America.
DeSantis is starting to whine like Kasich.

DeSantis was never going to run as VP. The GOPe would never let him.
DeSantis is never going to be a VP candidate. That’s the place where losers and career politicians with no ambition go to waste their time.
