The nation’s top military officer, Gen. Mark Milley, during a hearing on Wednesday, called Ukraine “an important national interest” of the United States, contradicting the views of the top 2024 Republican presidential contenders.
Asked what the strategic end state is for Ukraine, Milley said President Joe Biden had been “very clear” from the beginning.
“It’s very clear the strategic end state is the global rules-based international order that was put in place in 1945 is upheld,” he said. The loquacious general then gave an elaborate answer in which he called Ukraine “an important national interest.”

The global rules-based international order that was put in place in 1945 has turned into an international dumpster fire of debt, forever war, perversion, totalitarianism and financial bankruptcy which it is trying to cure by stealing from the other half of the world. And we are so geopolitically frivolous and unaware that we think it is ok to mug two coutries with large nuclear stockpiles because well, it would be stupid to use them. Stupid is as stupid does.
Ukraine never has and never will be a vital interest of the United States unless of course one considers the vital need for a money laundering operation and a place to build and operate bioweapons labs. And let’s not forget the strategic national interest of human trafficking.
