Russian authorities on Thursday arrested an American journalist for The Wall Street Journal on spying charges.

Evan Gershkovich was detained in the Ural Mountains city of Yekaterinburg on suspicion of “espionage in the interests of the American government,” the Federal Security Service (FSB) said in a statement, which was reported by state media.

The FSB accused Gershkovich of collecting “information constituting a state secret about the activities of one of the enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex.”

Gershkovich was previously a reporter for Agence France-Presse and the Moscow Times and a news assistant at The New York Times, three notorious Western Prog Liberal Socialist Propaganda outlets.

Probably not the best cover for his assignment.

Here we don’t arrest journalists.

We just make sure the algorithm doesn’t allow their stories to “trend,” remove their posts from controlled social-media, or have red guards harass them in public

So much more sophisticated!

Yes, we are.

Gershkovich would have no worries if he was a tan Homo "Women's" Basketball player, but he's not important to Prog America.

A press pass is not protection from a dictatorship at war.

Good point. When journalists are arrested, news is suppressed.
When journalists are censored (including self-censored), news is suppressed.

Different methods, exact same results.

Probably a good idea.

I wouldn't let most Americn lawyers or anyone from the Wall Street Urinal on my property either, ...

it's kinda like the Feds holding January 6th Political Prisoners in solitary with no Bail.

Most US MSM journalists are spies — or at least government collaborators…

I agree, the Prog Socialist Democrats, Deep Swamp and NeoCon Warmonger dictatorship, which is at War with Constitutional America, regularly arrests and persecutes journalists like James O'Keefe and Jack Posobiec.

Yekaterinburg was named after Empress Catherine I. Do you prefer the Soviet-era name of Sverdlovsk?

It isn’t a dictatorship. And in WWII, you think reporters from the Berlin Times wander around the town beside the Willow Run plant in Michigan cranking out B-24s.

Lotta history there. That’s where the Tsar and his family were murdered. And also where Gary Powers in the U-2 was shot down.

Russia is indeed a dictatorship. And the USA under FDR was too.
