The unsaid part here is this New York case is so obviously political persecution, it destroys the credibility of any subsequent “indictments” of Trump in other jurisdictions.

Barr is not defending Trump here. He is angry this case is so outrageous, it undermines any other hope of “getting” Trump.

Quite a bit...were you paying any attention? He put an end to the Russia hoax investigation and appointed a special prosecutor to investigate how it got started, and much of that has been exposed as a result. Not exactly small potatoes and not something anyone else had done.
