Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has chosen a finance director for his prospective presidential campaign, two sources close to DeSantis said on Thursday.

Lauren Lofstrom, who served as finance director for Texas Senator Ted Cruz during his 2016 presidential campaign, is joining DeSantis' political operation and has begun meeting with the governor's allies to discuss fundraising strategies, said the sources who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Others who have joined DeSantis' political operation include Jason Johnson, who served as Cruz's chief strategist in 2016, the sources said.

The deep swamp and hedgefund backed desantis keeps building up a presidential campaign organization...

desantis ran for re-election, saying he wanted to serve as governor of florida...

he didn't run on a platform of using the re-election as a stepping stone to a presidential election run.

The sooner he announces, the quicker people will see he's just another politician controlled and supported by the GOPe and big money, and the sooner his career is over.

Oh yeah.... and the obligatory "desantis hasn't said he's running".

Trump’s record speaks for itself.

DeSantis has done nothing yet. I live in Florida and he has done some good things for our State, but when he was a Congressman.........HE DID NOTHING!!! He is a Harvard and Yale grad and I trust NO politician who has graduated from these two evil anti American universities.

Desantis is a nobody, when you have TDS you can’t see it; when the primary result start to come in, as with Jeb Bush! their eyes will open and they will say we saw it all along.

At this moment, I feel like DeSantis’ best path is to do excellent work as the Governor of Florida for the next several years, inspiring other Governors to fight woke culture so they can get as much attention as DeSantis is getting.

Jeb has the words Future President, written in crayon, across the top of his bedroom mirror.

I do not believe—any longer—that DeSantis will run. Trump is the pick and I see DeSantis jumping on Trump’s bandwagon and campaign before too much longer.

desantis ran for re-election, saying he wanted to serve as governor of florida

He has a new job, which will be an attempt to stop Trump in '24.

What will happen is he'll anger about 75 million of Trump's good friends. He continues this track, and he'll be lucky to win any election on the national level, ever.

DeSantis needs to be VERY careful here. I think he's a great governor, and doing a very good job in Florida. However...

We here in Wisconsin also had a very good governor, Scott Walker. He went against the “conventional” wisdom sometines, like DeSantis. In fact, Walker was the only governor in the U.S. to survive a recall election. 53% to 46%, a large margin. Then he ran for the republican presidential nomination and lost. That was the end of his political career. He lost the next gubernatorial election to Tony Evers, a Madison liberal. Bad for Walker, terrible for Wisconsin.

I'm thinking it best (for everyone!) if DeSantis stays in Florida for now.

He better ask for his pay upfront since Ronnie won’t last any longer than Jeb Bush did in 2016.

DeSantis will get put into the same kind of political meat grinder than the Ukrainian soldiers are being put into.

Trump gets the nominee, it should be conform or be cast out for neocon freaks like you.

Trump has Lindsey Grahamnesty on his re-election committee in South Carolina. If we are going to judge based on who they have to help them get elected, trump is fair game too.

“Lauren Lofstrom”

Wonderful - might as well picked Lindsey Graham’s wife. Let’s see how that works out.
