How did we get here? Carter caused considerable pain but Reagan won a huge electoral victory. Obama was awful but Trump won in 2016. We thought the Republic was saved. With Biden nominally in charge but the woke gang and bigger security state really calling the shots, the danger to the Republic is huge. The left is using Putin as a political weapon and weakening this nation. Will they and Russia allow any sane peace deal?

But that was in 2014 when Obama did not wish to intervene directly in the annexation of Crimea and the media sought to help him by casting aspersions on Ukraine.
So much of the media's coverage now is shaped by its belief that the Russians intervened on behalf of Trump in the 2016 election. Now it serves its narrative to depict Ukraine as a plucky defender of democracy.
So those 2014 accounts of Ukrainian misdeeds have been memory-holed.
