Two days ago I posted what I thought would be quite an innocuous twitter thread about the implications of the U.K. government’s target of “net zero” by 2050.
Reminder of what ‘net zero’ really means. ... Key points: all airports except Heathrow, Belfast & Glasgow to close by 2030. NO FLYING at all by 2050. No new petrol/diesel cars by 2030; by 2050 road use restricted to 60% of today’s level.

Now, for clarification “net zero” means total greenhouse gas emissions (including methane) must be less than their removals (such as from planting trees). The FIRES report instead focused on an absolute zero target because they recognize the absence of novel revolutionary scalable technologies for 1) capture and removal of these gases; and 2) non-fossil fuel mass transportation and energy production.
In other words, if you realistically want to achieve the net zero target by 2050 you essentially have to go for absolute zero.
My twitter thread highlighted the eye-watering points that the strategy required:

So, although the FIRES report is not new it seems that finally people are waking up to the lunacy of the government’s net zero target and why it is doomed to fail (as explained by Prof Michael Kelly).

But it’s still a surprise that it is a surprise to so many. All of this is consistent with UN/WEF Agenda 21, the UN “World at 2050” agenda, and the WEF Great Reset with its “Build Back Better,” in which you’ll own nothing and be happy, and eat bugs instead of meat. Of course 15 minute cities now being pushed everywhere are key to all of this (everything that’s happening now in that respect and how it fits into Agenda 21 was explained in Rosa Koire’s 2011 book). I will argue that people do not forget the oceans. The people in question are ignorant on a very grand scale. In their near total ignorance they react with the direction they sense the wind is blowing.
Most lawyers and politicians lack much if any formal science. They are in actuality just ignorant.

The problem with this idea is that you will be expected to stay within your 15-20 minute area and sooner or later not allowed to travel outside that area except by permission. What? You want to drive to another state and visit your relatives for Christmas? Well, no you can’t because you traveled out of your area to the mountains on vacation 6 months ago. Too many carbon points. The next thing will be that you can’t even own a car, only a bicycle so no traveling outside your area, period.
Soviets had that, they were called “Internal Passports”, and they are coming here.
Also if you want to move, you will also have to get permission.

I have been to China three times with my wife to visit her family and have traveled throughout the country. The cities are densely populated while most of the country is uninhabited.

AND remember. None of this is possible without compliant well armed powerful police. Think twice before you put that “back the blue” bumper sticker on your truck. They are the ones who will crack your skull when you do not obey your overlords.
I firmly believe the Covid restrictions were a dry run to see just how far they could go in restricting our freedom. Although some people did not go along with it, it was a rousing success. Businesses and schools were shut down, with millions losing their job. Criminals were released from jail while law abiding citizens were confined to their homes. Gathering in groups of more than 10 were prohibited. You could be arrested for walking in the park. Sporting events, concerts, weddings, funerals, and religious services were banned. You had to wait in line to get into a supermarket, and once inside, there was no guarantee you would be able to find basic items on the shelves. Citizens were encouraged to spy on their neighbors and report people who were not “following the rules.” A few years ago, you would have said these things could never happen in America. They did happen, and people were more than willing to go along with it. After all, “it was for our own good.”
Elected sheriffs are often better than city police chiefs who report to / can be fired by the city manager if they leave the plantation.
