Here’s where GOP investigations stand after 100 days in the House majority

Shortly before Republicans took control of the House in January, GOP leaders vowed to open a number of investigations into President Joe Biden and his administration regarding their conduct over the last two years.

Now, 100 days into their reign, Republicans have opened a flurry of inquiries and have held several hearings featuring testimony and evidence as they push ahead with their agenda. Top Republicans such as House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) long expressed their intent to investigate Biden's White House on a variety of fronts, ranging from the southern border to Hunter Biden’s laptop.

Here are five of the top investigations House Republicans opened after taking control of the lower chamber and where they currently stand:

The Afghanistan withdrawal

Republicans have long vowed to investigate the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan in August 2021, during which the country airlifted more than 12,000 people out as the Taliban quickly seized control of the government. The operation has been heavily scrutinized, particularly after a suicide attack outside the Kabul airport left 13 Americans and roughly 200 Afghans dead.

The House Oversight Committee opened an investigation into the matter in mid-February, requesting all information related to the withdrawal from the White House, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the U.S. Agency for International Development, and the Defense, Homeland Security, and State departments. As part of that request, Republicans sought access to documents, communications, and other information related to the withdrawal, evacuation, and the vetting process of Afghans being relocated to the United States.

The House Foreign Affairs Committee then held its first hearing on the withdrawal on March 8, which featured testimony from witnesses who were evacuated from Kabul in September 2021. The committee later subpoenaed Secretary of State Antony Blinken...

Glad these hearings and investigations are going on, but wake me up when a democrat goes to jail.

It will all end up like Trey Gowdy. A big show, lots of sound and fury, not a damn thing accomplished!

The backstabbing GOP destroyed America,
covered-up the Election fraud,
and profit by the “candy” and trafficking.

THEY DID NOT RELEASE THE TAPES except to help
Pelosi’s friend.

THEY DO NOT OBEY the Law, and have no Honor. NONE.

Ale-HANDRO My-ORKAS is still in charge of Internal Security for the Perpetual State.

Merry Garfinkel of Minsk is still in charge of the Prosecutor General’s Office for the Perpetual State.

And most importantly, IRA Terrorist and Celtic Revenge Leader Joe ByeDone is still allowed to rule by decree.

Jordan making a few points. Cruz REALLY made points offa Mayorkas. But overall, the RatCom Occupation Junta is still rollin’ on. Spending trillions as they go.

As long as the DOJ is corrupt, things will not change. As long as Biden is resident, the DOJ will be corrupt.

The only political party in D.C. is the UniParty
which has a left and a right wing.

But it’s still ONE party — the party of accumulation of wealth and power. Nothing else matters; and they all have only ONE life-skill: getting elected.

They have NO other aptitudes or practical skills.

“....not a damn thing accomplished...”

As legislators, what power do they have other than investigate and refer??? Do you think the DOJ, FBI or the WH will cooperate????

Investigations are useless if we don’t have fair elections.

The DOJ was corrupt under Trump as well. Nothing is changed in that department.

Could you translate this into salary and staff cost dollars wasted, please?

This nonsense is no better when our side does it than when the democrats do it. It’s just grandstanding for the base, but I don’t know who drops a check in the mail to Ronna McRomney because they are so excited these hearings are going on.

I am starting to believe it is all scripted just like “pro wrestling”.

So far, we have mostly learned we were right all along. Big deal. The media ignores the revelations, labels them old news, or simply calls it “partisan politics”. The average American could not tell you one thing these hearings have uncovered.

You want to know how bad it is? The Republicans just voted to give the FBI billions for a new HQ! That will teach them!

Thank you for referencing that article Twotone.

"Here’s where GOP investigations stand after 100 days in the House majority"

I now think that it is too much to expect career "MAGA Republican" lawmakers to publicly protest regular constitutional overreach, not only by the very corrupt, post-17th Amendment (17A) ratification Congress, but also by non-popularly elected bureaucrats running constitutionally undefined, so-called "federal regulatory agencies." Incumbent Republicans please prove me wrong.

In fact, patriots should know what RINOs to primary in 2024 without Trump's advice.

Also, consider that non-elected federal bureaucrats wrongly weaken the constitutionally enumerated voting power of ordinary citizens in both federal and state elections since federal bureaucrats base their unconstitutional edicts mostly on stolen state powers imo.

Note that Congress's constitutional overreach is primarily through unconstitutional taxing and vote-buying spending imo.

Stolen elections aside, if I recall correctly (ahem), the definition of insanity is reelecting the same post-17A career RINOs over and over again, expecting different results each time.

I would assume they’re doing what they’ll always do, investigate enough to figure out a way to be stymied by the dems when it comes time to actually hold anyone accountable.
