Seattle Public Schools hit with federal civil rights complaint for racial segregation

Seattle Public Schools could find itself mired in a federal civil rights investigation for separating students by race in multiple programs, a month after it hastily removed racial eligibility criteria from a "potluck" that implicitly excluded whites and Jews.

The Foundation Against Intolerance and Racism filed a complaint Tuesday with the Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights against the district's Pathfinder K-8 School after a year of unheeded warnings that its practices violate Title VI of the Civil Rights Act.

It's FAIR's first OCR complaint and "the most egregious version" of racial separation it has seen in submissions to its tracking portal, Managing Director of Legal Advocacy Leigh Ann O'Neill told Just the News. Multiple sets of Pathfinder parents started notifying FAIR in November 2021 but have not spoken publicly for fear of being called a "bigot," she said.

There's precedent for federal investigation, even in the Biden administration.

Right now, lawfare is the only thing we have to fight back against the left's take-over of the education system. Well, that and a lot of prayer. I'm glad to see this lawsuit filed. However, the left is also going against attorneys who representative conservatives. They are making bar complaints against them and since Bar Associations are mainly controlled by the left, they have a good chance of getting attorneys disbarred.

Homeschooling. We did, it paid off.

“Homeschooling. We did, it paid off.”

Yes. Thankfully there is that option for parents. But the public school system still needs to be saved. Conservative take-overs of school boards will go a long way to helping, as will suing the schools that blatantly discriminate on the basis of skin color.

My five grandchildren are all home-schooled as well. They are way ahead of their public school peers by every metric and they are learning actual history and conservative values.

The increase in home-schooling over the past few years is going to save a lot of children. THEY will be the future leaders and business owners of our nation.

It’s better for everyone to simply “walk away” from the government indoctrination centers (GICs) and let it collapse.

The federal government indoctrination centers for sure. The dept of Education needs to be disbanded, defunded, and destroyed.

I think we should return to community schools totally controlled by the parents. A community school could consist of ten families or 50, with maybe the state setting the rule that English, History, Math, Spelling, and Reading had to be taught. There has just got to be a better way other than having DC controlled schools. The federal government had no business getting into the education business in the first place.

The only way to for parents to get control back of GICs without getting into a knock-down-drag out fight is to walk away from them.

No butts in the seats means no funding for the schools. Teachers don’t get paid. Union bosses don’t get paid. School admin doesn’t get paid. It will simply, completely collapse.

It’s so simple, yet, so effective, but most people don’t get it.

Well, it could, but it won’t. There is no way that Brandon’s DOJ is going to do anything about a program that excludes whites.

But they lose a significant amount of funding if children do not show up for class.
