If they don’t have a policy of jailing all (her, WaPo/NYT people, etc, posting/reporting this) or jailing none who do this, what does that say?
DOJ claims to rely on the legal principle that if a publisher encourages the leaker to bring the publisher classified information, then the publisher is in a conspiracy with the leaker to violate national security laws.
This is the approach taken with Julian Assange, his charges IIRC claim that he encouraged Bradley Manning to go get more secret info and bring it to him, and that is what they are trying to nail him on, not merely publishing secret information.
This may be what they are going for with the Putinista ‘Donbass Devushka.’
Obviously, MSM reporters also encourage their Intel Community sources to bring them secret information that they can publish to further their political agenda.
But we have two standards of justice in this country, depending on whether or not a person is allied with the coalition of tribes that hold power in the US.
I see...she has a current security clearance. And yes for them to repost classified that has been leaked is illegal for them. Or at least against their NDA.
The question is did she know it was truly classified. That would be my defense. There was originally stories that this was russian misinformation. Or the CIA leaked it as it’s false. So you could claim you thought you were helping the USA by spreading their lies.
