CHICAGO (AP) — When the U.S. prisons director visited the penitentiary in Terre Haute, Indiana, this past week, she stopped by the federal death row where Bruce Webster is in a solitary, 12-by-7 foot cell, 23 hours a day.

Webster’s not supposed to be there. A federal judge in Indiana ruled in 2019 that the 49-year-old has an IQ in the range of severe intellectual disability and so cannot be put to death.

But four years on, the Justice Department and the Federal Bureau of Prisons haven’t moved him to a less restrictive unit or different prison.

Kidnapped, raped & buried victim alive & his death row was overturned. Plus President Diaper wants to stop executions of federal inmates but its still ok to kill babies.

God help us.

Maybe they don’t have any special wing for the mentally handicapped, so keeping him in isolation on death row is the safest place for him?

If he’s that stupid he won’t know what we’re doing anyway.

“...she...” is as far as I got. Another sob story about a black murderer who killed somebody but is “innocent”. They’re a dime a dozen.

He is likely extremely dangerous to the guards and other inmates and cannot be allowed to go back into society where he will kill again. It seems like a non-story that I could certainly not care less about.

"In Webster’s case, he and three accomplices kidnapped a sister of a rival drug trafficker in 1994, kicking their way into an Arlington, Texas, apartment as Lisa Rene frantically dialed 911. They raped her over two days, then stripped her, bludgeoned her with a shovel and buried her alive."

Hang him, today.

He’s obviously quiet and good for employee morale. A keeper.

A place for him to stay while waiting to replace Fetterman in the Senate.

"Kidnapped, raped & buried victim alive & his death row was overturned."

Maybe if Lisa Rene had been the daughter of the Indiana judge, Webster's death sentence wouldn't have been vacated.

LOL. Best comment I have seen on FR all day. I almost had some sympathy for this creature until I found out what he did.

Being stupid in the “real world” is usually a death sentence anyway.

Just kill him and be done with it!

Does the Supreme Court ruling rule out the mercy killing of mentally incompetent criminals? I mean, not as a punishment, but as a kind, peaceful resolution to their difficult lives.
