An innocent kid was shot in the face. The responses on this thread are shameful.

@vison, “ shot and innocent kid” that is quite presumptuous.
of you. You must be a racist.

Agreed, if the story is accurate. I also wonder how many burglaries and robberies the old man has endured.

If you are afraid, you don’t actually have to open your door. Yell, “Go away.” Or, “I’m armed. Go away.”

Prayers for the wounded boy.

A couple of years ago, in the daylight a guy came by looking for his lost dog. I hadn't seen it and he kept looking at other houses. That evening the dog showed up at my house. I took him in, got in the car and went looking for the dog's house. I knew the number but wasn't familiar with the neighborhood.

Before I had even gotten to the first possibility, I realized the wandering around to strange houses after dark was a good way to get shot. I turned around and kept the dog overnight, returning him in the morning.

And, this was in a good neighborhood. In a marginal one like this happened in, even a kid should know that going to strange houses after dark is very dangerous.
