SCHENECTADY, NY (WRGB) — Police have made 4 arrests in connection to an attempted home invasion and shooting in Schenectady.
According to police, just before 10:30 PM officers responded to a home on Kings Road for a report of an attempted home invasion.
Police say several suspects attempted to force their way into a home, making it as far as the breezeway.
Two others from inside the home then fired guns as the suspects, according to police.

Bottom line, imagine if these thugs had the wrong address....that's why people arm themselves in homes.
Another example where the home invasion is tending to be two or more vs a single invader. Be prepared for this.
You need to post pictures of the shooters and the shot so the kkk types here know who to say was in the wrong.
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Four people were arrested after an attempted home invasion with shots fired, according to the Schenectady Police Department. Legrant Foster (28, Troy), Pierre Thompson (23, Schenectady), Monique Serrano (30, Schenectady), and David Jackson (28, Schenectady), each face charges.
French or Amish, waiting for photos.
The old boy in Missouri would have been right to expect a second or third ”visitor” out of sight on his porch. Gotta wait for them to get in the house, though.
Sounds like we homeowners need some tax credits so we can avail ourselves of more professional training.
“But given the one resident was also charged with illegal possession it’s looking more like a gang war over drugs or something.”
It’s NY, so maybe any of a hundred burdensome and unconstitutional laws were broken by an otherwise upstanding person, e.g. failure to register, expired permit, mag capacity one over the limit, threaded barrel, arm brace, etc. Possibly.
Pretty sure the invaders were in the wrong. Illegal possession by an occupant makes me think gang or drug ripoff.
Found the dealer’s house...
This is why you ALWAYS need to keep your back doors locked at all times as well.
I have a friend who wouldn’t open her front door to “visitors” who pretended to be “from the utility company” - the rest of the criminals in the group snuck around the back and got in through an unlocked door. She was raped, and robbed, fortunately, wasn’t killed.
I keep my back doors locked to this minute.
Of course something like a Ring system helps with this as well - I am alerted to - and can see anyone coming up my driveway before they get on my porch. Back door also has a camera on in even though I have a locked, gated backyard surrounded by high fences.
You can never be too safe or cautious.
Yep, buying some more cameras today :)
They didn’t arrest the homeowner??????
NY has duty to retreat laws. You’re not allowed to defend yourself.
Unless you are confronted with a deadly threat, gun, potential arson. In your home you only need fear for your life, no retreat required.
I think a lot of these home invasions are drug rip offs.
This one seems like it, and knowing Schenectady....it ain't like it was 60 years ago when GO employed tens of thousands
GO = GE general electric
Four home invaders—”There is no rational reason for high-capacity magazines.”
Nail meet head of hammer. Nailed it.

There was a situation in Central NY some years ago where someone had a home invader and they got in trouble for defending themselves. Maybe it depends more on the community you are in but a lot of people were incensed over it.
