I lived there for almost a decade. They are engrained in “keep calm and carry on” in the populace. Particularly the older generation. If I heard someone say to me if I complained about something...”Oh, well, nevermind”...I wanted to crawl out of my skin!
The younger generations are brainwashed by the media and all they seem concerned about is going on “hols” and getting drunk and ...well...you know.
I have never experienced a more ignorant culture. And I knew we were about 10 years behind.
That is a really brilliant connection of those two things. I’m keeping that.

I’m amazed that the Kiwees and Aussies put up with their country’s fascism during COVID. Ditto Canaduh, GB and sadly the USA.
Americans were just as foolish, gobbling up their "stimulus" checks like free money. Only it wasn't free. The bill has come due, and it recurs every time they go to the store.
The checks should have been for $1M each. We would all be millionaires and have wiped out poverty. Our money would even let us stay in a hotel on Boardwalk.
