This started before 1970, a lot of people don’t know that, in the early days employers weren’t used to watching their language yet and would say it straight out, you are a white man, we can’t take you.

“Executive Order 10925
On March 6, 1961 President John F. Kennedy issued Executive Order 10925, which included a provision that government contractors “take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and employees are treated during employment, without regard to their race, creed, color, or national origin.” The intent of this executive order was to affirm the government’s commitment to equal opportunity for all qualified persons, and to take positive action to strengthen efforts to realize true equal opportunity for all. This executive order was superseded by Executive Order 11246 in 1965.”

At universities the only applicants evaluated on merit are those recruited for the sports teams and they are only evaluated on their abilities in the chosen sport.

Eventually, the applicants for sports will be evaluated on their wokeness, and their gender identity via gender reassignment.

Remember that, the real actual value of a person's skills and education and intelligence and looks and gender, are no longer how the left does their evaluation.

women aren’t a diversity hire anymore?

Only if they are "transgender".

Otherwise, just shut up and move to the back of the line.

You are outranked by Muslims, Gays, Transgenders, Lesbians, Hispanics and Blacks. You can still bump ahead of any White Male Christians that remain.

The term diversity hire is an insult.

It means your skill had less value for you than your skin color, your religion, or your sexual orientation. In other words you were hired for the job based on anything other than your ability to do the job.

It was meant to be charity, but it ended up being robbery. First robbed are the people who deserved the job and didn't get it. Second are the people who deserved the job, and everybody thinks they didn't deserve it. But third — and easily the worst off — are the people who think they're going to get something good and end up getting hurt.

Jeremy Egerer 'gets it". This liberal 'elite' charity is a horror and insulting for all.. and as usual hurts the people most who it was meant to help.

DEI is too religious sounding. I propose calling it what it actually is: IED.
