What enemy lines?

Are we at war with Sudan now?

No we are not. Yet France, Germany, and the Netherlands are somehow willing and able to evacuated their citizens (and ours) from a nation that is descending into chaos.

It’s not a question of taking sides, really who cares who is running Sudan; not our circus not our monkeys. But U.S. citizens are our monkeys and our government doesn’t seem to care about getting them out. Kind of like Afghanistan.

There is a series on YouTube, World War II, that traces the events of the war week by week. In todays episode there was a discussion of who was going to take the blame for German failures during the spring of 1944. Nothing bad that happened to the German war effort could be blamed on Hitler—it had to be someone else’s fault—this was cited as a characteristic of despots. Reminded me of our current administration.
