POLL INDICATES A SURPRISING TICKET COULD DEFEAT BIDEN IN A LANDSLIDE

The GOP’s two biggest leading rivals are in for a surprise after polling found that their union on a presidential ticket could result in them carrying the popular vote by the largest margin since Bill Clinton in 1996.

If President Trump were to select Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as his vice presidential running mate, the ticket would carry the popular vote by nearly double digits over Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, according to polling.

A Rasmussen Reports poll found that the hypothetical duo led the incumbent Democrats in the presidential race by eight points (51 percent to 43 percent).

Adding @RonDeSantisFL to the @realDonaldTrump ticket gets Trump above 50% for the first time since September 2021.

If you think it's a good idea, our sponsor for this poll would appreciate your input, here:https://t.co/A4srAE67wb https://t.co/5X0jrptgop pic.twitter.com/Phj48bVkw8— Rasmussen Reports (@Rasmussen_Poll) May 3, 2023

The poll also found that a unifying ticket between Trump and DeSantis would bring five percent more independent voters and increases of two and four percent among every age group and ethnicity.

Additionally, a ticket with Trump and Kari Lake, the former Arizona Republican gubernatorial nominee, defeated Biden and Harris at 47 percent to 42 percent, according to Rasmussen Reports.

We the People Convention President Tom Zawistowski said that a Trump-DeSantis ticket would bode well for Republicans who are hoping to unseat Biden in 2024.

“We can’t win if either Trump or DeSantis is up on Biden by five percent or six percent and if we are not over 50 percent,” Zawistowski said.

“Across the poll, we see a six percent jump from people who would vote for ‘other’ who move to Trump-DeSantis. That’s a big deal. Plus, a Trump-DeSantis Unity Ticket does well in the swing states,” he added.

Should they choose to join forces, a Trump-DeSantis ticket could result in a landslide victory against Joe Biden, as each of them is wildly popular among their core bases.

Trump and DeSantis have recently thrown jabs at one another as the campaign trail heats up. DeSantis has not yet announced an official presidential bid.

Trump, however, has consistently led DeSantis by massive margins in recent polling. An Ipsos/Reuters poll from last month found that Trump led DeSantis by nearly 40 points (58 percent to 21 percent) for the nomination.

Don’t trust DeSantis anymore...he was the logical choice.. it was his for the asking Then he got recruited by the never Trump neocons. And he jumped on board with out a flinch ..He went straight up politician Seduced by the dark side ( Unitparty GOPe division) to be there “good boy/play ball/do what he told” choice Kari Lake is the choice to go with

Kari Lake from the great state of Arizona or Kristi Noem of South Dakota for President Trump would be two (2) good choices.

Kari Lake would be the best choice since Arizona is more populated that South Dakota plus the fact that the presidential election of 2020 was declared uncertifiable in Arizona.

There were more voters than there are people in the state of Arizona.

>I used to really like DeSantis, but now I’m not sure Trump could trust him.

I think they’re going to try to push DeSantis on him but Vivek is a much better choice. As ignorant as the youth are, there are going to be some that look at his skin color and listen to him, and they are gradually going to be convinced that he’s right.

Especially if the peace of the last decade is suddenly disrupted by another huge recession.

The GOPe is working very diligently on aiding the steal...

They talk a lot about election integrity, but I don't see them actually doing anything about it.

If he hasn’t asked you, you have no worries...

< snort >

For all of the folks who made that sort of reply ...

I have had the misfortune of working with people similar to Trump. I don't enjoy working with thin-skinned egotists. I don't recommend it to others.

Lots of hurdles DeSantis had to clear before he has a shot.

Time’ll tell.

Trump does not need another disloyal swamp creature for VP. Pence was enough.

Stupid. Trump ALREADY knows he cannot trust RD. Pence was a stinker, but PDJT didn’t know that when he chose him. If RD announces, he is stabbing Trump in the back.

No! We need Desantis to pick up the pieces after Trump implodes (either in the primary or general) if he is associated with Trump he will go down as well. There is no way Trump could win in the general he has zero moderate and independent support

Another Pence?
BTW, Clinton got less than 50% of the popular vote in ‘96, I think it was 49% plus, but he did not get that magic 50%.
Rush talked about this extensively back in the ‘90s.
Clinton was desperate to get that 50% plus 1 so he could claim that he had a ‘mandate’ for governing but it never happened.
Whoever wrote this should have used Nixon in ‘72 or Reagan in ‘84 if they wanted to sound like they knew what they were talking about.
I don’t trust DeSantis.

Copium and Hopium of the highest order by Trump supporters

Trump and his supporters have spent months trashing DeSantis and suddenly the Florida governor will embrace Trump? Plus, the most vocal Freepers detest the supposed “deep state running dog” DeSantis.

Hopium and Copium

I do not want DeSantis to leave Florida.

Does everyone realize that if Florida turns, this nation is
done for? If you think it’s bad now, you’ll look back on
these days as the good old days.

DeSantis needs to make sure his replacement is ready.
