With a penalty cost, they actually CAN be residents from the same state but the electoral college votes that could be won by the pair are disqualified or are not awarded.

In Florida, that is 29 E. C. votes and is a price too high to pay for the option, therefore it won’t happen, but as others on the thread have stated - President Trump could move to another state easily enough.

No. They just won’t get the state’s electoral votes. One of them can move (most likely DJT) to another state and problem solved. Same thing happened with Cheney/Bush when they both lived in TX. Cheney moved to MT and resolved the issue.
