This order has two impacts. 1.) Trump is gagged and cannot defend his public reputation. 2.) The government will leak and control information. This DA’s office already has a history of leaking testimony from the grand jury.
I read elsewhere that gag orders are to protect the defendant from sensational and potentially damaging media that could affect the trial outcome.
Here, the gag order protects the state prosecutor and judge.
Eight years of unrelenting assaults. Lesser men would have folded long ago.
