Christopher Nolan and Oppenheimer... this is the one flick I'm really looking forward to this summer.
I don’t think the cuts and silhouettes of their suits are accurate for the depicted era.
Will this charming little flick also address the deep Soviet penetration of the Manhattan Project and Oppenheimer’s role in it?
Me too...!
Not sure Murphy was tall enough - but his ambition in getting this role will probably take over - very much looking forward to this version of history
“pulse-pounding scenes showcasing a man who must risk destroying the entire world in a wild and dangerous attempt to save it. “
A bit over-wrought.
Got a link for the trailer in there somewhere?
Not going to watch a movie lauding a marxist traitor.
Bump!
I bet it bombs.
jk
I liked the BBC version of Oppenheimer with Sam Waterston. 7 episodes, seemed balanced to me.
The scientists who worked on the Manhattan Project were an interesting bunch.
Enrico Fermi is another one who played an important part.
Nils Bohr.
There was a lot of DIVERSITY, but not so much PERVERSITY.
Of course, it was a different country back then.
The one problem I have with this movie is the casting of Matt Damon in any role in it. Otherwise, I would like to see the story of Oppenheimer I think he got a raw deal later on after giving so much for our country
Whoa! After I typed Oppen, autocorrect put in Oppenheimer. Well, to me, that is amazing.
It’s kind of similar to Apollo XIII though... You should know the ending going in... So the drama is rather subdued by the ultimate conclusion. They make the bomb, they drop it on Japan and the war is over.
The good news... We made it before the axis countries made it... Otherwise, we’d be living a different dystopia than the current dystopia that we already live in.
I love Nolan because he has strong characters in his films.
What I mean is that they struggle with existential personalities and morals. I would love to see Nolan direct a biopic about George Washington. It would cement him as the greatest director of all time.
Also highly recommend watching “The Prestige.”
Nolan’s films have gotten less watchable in recent years. Tenet was a mess. Hopefully this will be better.
Not, some how although it does sound interesting, Hollywood will twist it and somehow throw in the poor Japanese, climate change, DIE, racist America and social justice needed to correct this evil
Obviously crap.
