CEO of grocery chain sounds alarm over the 'dumb things' US government is doing

The CEO of New York City grocery store chain Gristedes is sounding the alarm over all the "dumb things" the government is doing as inflation persists.

When FOX Business host Maria Bartiromo asked John Catsimatidis when Americans will see a break at the supermarket he said: "When the food executives feel confident that Washington is not doing dumb things."

"When they feel that their earnings… are going to survive," he continued.

His comments came on the heels of inflation jumping 0.4% in April as prices remain stubbornly high. The Labor Department said Wednesday that the consumer price index, a broad measure of the price for everyday goods including gasoline, groceries and rents, climbed 4.9% on an annual basis, slightly below the 5% increase forecast by Refinitiv economists.

The economy will not turn around and inflation will continue for as long as the Democrats are in control.

It's democrat policies that are causing inflation and each action they take or policy they implement just adds to those problems. The left's war on gas and oil is the root problem of the increased cost in every product and service being created or provided.

It’s not dumb if it is part of a bigger insane plan.

I don't claim to be an economic expert, but that's my perception as well.

The one thing Trump is good at is getting rid of rules and getting us back to a market place.

In a war, there must be death and destruction and wailing and knashing of teeth.

The time is come for progressive bodies to be piled up. The war must be won and progressives destroyed

Speaking of dumb things ...

How about the useless garbage labeling on groceries ...

“BioEngineered Ingredients used”

It’s on close to 90% of items sold. Fresh breads, fresh deli salads.

All this does is HIDE gmo and can mean almost anything.

More stupid from the govt.

Freepers have a bad habit of thinking something is “dumb” when in fact it is the deliberate policy of evil people.

So, why are 18-wheelers sitting idle all of a sudden? Truckers are having problems with getting loads and then getting loaded. Something going on in background.

democrat policies
\/

Face it.

The slavers never surrendered un 1864 or 1865.

We are still in civil war.

It never ended it just went Guerrilla warfare .

They have been cooking elections since 1864.

And now, their slave trade is back in the open.

They have slave traded ,

( stop calling it their invented misleading euphemism “ human trafficing” it enables them )

They have slaved more people in the last 6 years then they had when it was legal. Let that sink in !

They took the hood off him and made him head of DHS.

Thank you for referencing that article CFW.

"CEO of grocery chain sounds alarm over the 'dumb things' US government is doing"

As a side note to this thread, please consider the following.

The definition if insanity is electing your "beloved" state and federal lawmakers and executives over and over again, expecting the elimination of unconstitutional state and federal policies made by non-popularly-elected government bureaucrats every time.

"Article I, Section 1: All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives [and non-popularly-elected bureaucrats running Federal Reserve, IRS, EPA, BLM, etc.]."

When a given state has a reputation for being run by crooks for example, all patriots in the country need to sympathize with that state by electing new federal lawmakers for their own states since their federal lawmakers are not making a difference with respect to constitutionally enumerated federal responsibility to guarantee each state a republican form of government.

"Article IV, Section 4: The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government [emphasis added], and against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence."

You're fired!

We need all new patriot-endorsed faces in state and federal governments in 2024.

After all, since one of the very few powers that the states have actually expressly constitutionally given to the federal government to dictate federal domestic policy is to run the US Mail Service, most federal policy now based on stolen state powers, patriots should feel confident to elect all new federal lawmakers every election year without fear of delays in mail delivery.

“The left’s war on gas and oil is the root problem of the increased cost in every product and service being created or provided.”

yep ... energy is the primary cost input into all manufacturing, mining/smelting, agriculture, construction and transportation ... labor is second ...

throughout history the proportion of labor inputs has shrunk as energy inputs has increased ...

throughout human history, reducing labor from nearly 100% for agricultural production to only about 10% in modern industrial societies gradually freed up the other 90% to pursue activities that have resulted in our massively increased standard of living ...
