Ex-Trump Campaign Manager Corey Lewandowski Joins His 2024 Rival — With Trump’s Blessing

… Lewandowski has talked with American Exceptionalism PAC, an outside group that has been set up to bolster the candidacy of Ramaswamy, according to three people familiar with the discussions. The longtime GOP operative, who for a time led Trump’s 2016 campaign and has remained an ally of the ex-president, approached Trump within the last several weeks to tell him about the prospect of him joining the organization.

Trump did not raise any objections, according to those people familiar with the talks.

Lewandowski was previously at the head of a pro-Trump Super PAC until allegations of sexual misconduct toward a donor resulted in his ouster.

Lewandowski’s move to join Ramaswamy’s camp via the American Exceptionalism PAC comes “amid a seemingly growing alliance between Trump and Ramaswamy,” according to Politico, which noted the longshot’s reticence to criticize the frontrunner, and eagerness to launch broadsides against other candidates.

“I am pleased to see that Vivek Ramaswamy is doing so well in the most recent Republican Primary Poll. He is tied with Mike Pence, and seems to be on his way to catching Ron DeSanctimonious,” said Trump last week.

“The thing I like about Vivek is that he only has good things to say about ‘President Trump,’ and all that the Trump Administration has so successfully done,” he continued.

For his part, Ramaswamy has explicitly stated that he is “not running against President Trump,” prompting National Review‘s Charles C.W. Cooke to accuse him of “running as Donald Trump’s obsequious press secretary.

That’s what I think. He and Ric Grenell are my two favorite VP choices.

I’m supporting Vivek. I like the way he presents the issues.

Charles C.W. Cooke, aka Mitch McConnell's Press Secretary, sounds pissed.

What is Vivek thinking?

Almost ALL of Trump’s advisors and handlers are political poison. The one thing Trump is famous for is making horrible choices in picking aides, staff, managers and so on.

Vivek is brilliant, a MAGA conservative, but no politician, which is a good thing.

Clearly, Ramaswamy wants to be Trump’s running mate. He’ll be an improvement over Judas Pence!

True. While both are brilliant, Vivek’s intellectual strength complements Trump’s commonsense populism. He could be Trump’s strong right hand for policy, legislation, details... similar to Peter Navarro.

Vivek would be an interesting choice for Trump's VP, but I don't know how many people he could pull to join Trump - and a VP choice has to be able to attract additional voters to the presidential nominee. Pence as VP nominee was supposed to convince moderate Republicans to vote for Trump.

That said, Vivek continues to be an interesting guy and I have yet to hear anything from him that I disagree with.

Yes, for such young age, his grasp of issues is impressive. This dude must possess photographic memory, since he never needs notes or cue cards, and I am yet to observe him stumble or hesitate after any gotcha questions from media.

I simply can’t wait for the GOP presidential candidate’s debates.

Vivek was also put through Yale Law School as a Soros Fellow and more or less walked into billions of funding for biotech companies centralizing and compiling nationwide healthcare data, performing advanced biopharma trials, etc., etc.

If you or anyone could show him making any political statements or donations before 2020, I’d love to see them.
