A man who authorities previously confirmed was in the United States illegally and who court documents allege had mental illness concerns has been convicted of first-degree murder in the 2021 beheading death of his girlfriend in Shakopee.

Alexis Saborit, 44, previously waived his right to a jury trial, and the guilty verdict was filed in court Thursday by Scott County Judge Caroline Lennon.

The court document describes that Saborit struck America Thayer, 55, with an 8-pound dumbbell and then proceeded to behead her with a machete in front of several witnesses on July 28, 2021

Can’t we ship him back to his native country?
Let them pay his bills for the next 50 years!

From the article:

Court documents from an arson case charged several months prior to the murder show that Saborit was ordered to have a mental health evaluation. He was released on bail in the case, but his conditional release was revoked in the spring of 2021 after a court document described him as a danger to the community. However, Judge Richard C. Perkins then ordered him released again.

He should face a quick hanging.

"proceeded to behead her with a machete"

Now she can give him head easier.

At very least, Judge Perkins needs to be disbarred.
I could suggest several other actions in lieu of disbarrment, but I will just leave it at that.

Life in an Iso-Cube is too lenient for that monster.
Immediate execution is called for!

"ICE previously attempted to remove Saborit to Cuba in 2012 but was unsuccessful because his home country wouldn’t approve the necessary travel documents"

Oh, so, all of a sudden, ICE is worried about proper documents for crossing a border.

Drop him in the ocean, outside of Cuba's territorial waters and point him toward his home.

Barrack was president in 2012. He was not inclined use his influence to play hardball with Cuba and make them take one of their ‘Sons’ back home, warts and all.
He could have supported the Gov. of Minnesota’s effort, assuming the Gov. is who would need to negotiate the dumping.

Predictable consequence of the lack of statutory common sense dumbbell control (to say nothing of common sense machete control).

I was going to say that too. What in the world is wrong with this judge? And others like him?

He should face a quick hanging.

What really happens is "during the transfer process the prisoner escaped from the van with the help of two prison system accomplices and is the subject of a nationwide search. The police are reaching out for help from the public tso locate him. He is armed and dangerous."

Or "the chain of evidence was found to have been contaminated. Dna was contaminated. The verdict has been set aside by the judge."

I admit the recent courageous jury verdicts of guilty in notorious cases have started to undermine by total contempt for the jury pools of the US. Started.
