WASHINGTON — The limping conclusion to John Durham’s four-year investigation of the Russia inquiry underscores a recurring dilemma in U.S. government: how to shield sensitive law enforcement investigations from politics without creating prosecutors who can run amok, never to be held to account.
At a time when special counsels are proliferating — there have been four since 2017, two of whom are still at work — the much-hyped investigation by Durham, a special counsel, into the Russia inquiry ended with a whimper that stood in contrast to the countless hours of political furor that spun off from it.
Durham delivered a report that scolded the FBI but failed to live up to the expectations of supporters of Donald Trump that he would uncover a politically motivated “deep state” conspiracy. He charged no high-level FBI or intelligence official with a crime and acknowledged in a footnote that Hillary Rodham Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign did nothing prosecutable, either.
Predictably, the report’s actual content — it contained no major new revelations, and it accused the FBI of “confirmation bias” rather than making a more explosive conclusion of political bias — made scant difference in parts of the political arena. Trump and many of his loyalists issued statements treating it as vindication of their claims that the Russia inquiry involved far more extravagant wrongdoing.

It certainly didn’t tell us anything that we didn’t know. reinforced the fact that the FBI aka Comey was dirty.
The riots in the streets tell the whole story of the country’s reaction. Oh wait ...
DC juries simply don't convict Rats.
When Leftazi lies don’t work they just lie harder... LIE LOUDER!!!
Truth is the enemy of Democrats, RINOs, BigMedia, BigTech and globalists. So they seek to dismiss the Durham report, not on the (very damning) evidence, but that since he was appointed in a Republican administration, it has no weight or meaning, true or not. What the Deep State seeks is essentially a Bill of Attainder against Trump and any persons challenging their pursuit of dictatorial power. Law and due process be damned! A total mockery and contempt of ALL the USA’s Founders and founding documents as well as the rule of law they sought to establish.
Makes me restate an ancient Truth:
The most dangerous threat to your Sacred Liberty is to NOT value it. To be seduced by the “red pottage” promises of politicians’ “bread and circuses” that are never realized! History attests such promises soon shall become chains.
Alan Dershowitz comments on Durham findings:
Durham probably doesn’t want Bidenskyyy’s Dung Beetles taking him down to the Marcy Park “Train Station”.
What heinous, abominable misrepresentations.
I told someone the other day that this is all playing out like the old movie and TV westerns that I grew up watching.
On the one hand, we have mob justice in New York City where a soldier protects people on a stage coach and a mob forms demanding that he be hanged.
On the other hand, we have the town oligarch jailed for crimes against the opposition businessman, but the jury of peers indebted to the oligarch fails to convict.
I've seen this program dozens of times.

Mistakes were made, but nobody made them
Can you imagine the reaction of people being told the ‘news’ by a company called yahoo? Could you say that with a straight face? The joke is on us.
The NYT?
So, nobody did something??
Charlie Savage is a propagandist not a journalist. This article is pure lies and disinformation.
Intelligence agencies had no basis for their now-debunked accusations against Trump.
They willfully ignored evidence that did not support their presumptions with a FBI lawyer making misrepresentations to the FISA court.
From what I read in the Durham report then NYT’s was part of the criminal conspiracy. And of course they still are.
DC Grand Juries do not indict them either. That was what Durham ran into as well. 95% Democrat bureaucrat jury pool, all swimming in the Deep State Pee filled Pool.
If ever there was to be an article as to what a fetid stinking cesspool of partisan propaganda the NYTimes is, this would be it. No, it didn’t reveal a conspiracy...and why is that...because there was no “articles of incorporation” for any such conspiracy?
It delivered no new revelations? So that means everything that went on was OK? It’s not a matter of “new”. I guess because all this was done and the corrupt players involved were given the benefit of the doubt, kept their salaries and pensions, and were not brought up on charges until a proper investigation could be conducted.
The Slimes AND Yahoo. The RATS doubled-down on this crap.
Baloney. If they really prosecuted this, they could get DC convictions. At least bleed the buggers in the process, too.
True! Durham did try to get some prosecutions/indictments going but was thwarted.
