Extremism is when someone is so invested in their rigid belief in a cause or ideology that they reject any other viewpoint and are willing to use abusive and harmful tactics to shut down those they believe to be in their way. Aggressive defense of their ideology may include violence to enforce their belief system.

If one searches “defining political extremism” as I did just now as a test case, the Google search results include the top ones denouncing the right and one giving the ADL view.
Google is shaping that ONLY the conservative and “alt right” is extremist and their socialist, Communist, climate change, woke, BLM and Dem side is “normal” and “correct.”
If you rub elbows with Dem relatives and coworkers I am certain you will find they all agree with that side they were brainwashed to believe. Fools or misguided naive types will defend it all.
