“His report did state that 0bama and Biden were briefed by John Brennan on Hillary’s plan to smear Trump with Russia collusion. Not much room for ambiguity there.”
*************
The report was a whitewash. This entire sordid episode was, at its very essence, a politically orchestrated and unlawful abuse of power. That should have been the clear take away from anyone who read the report.
This was a complete breach of trust from the top down. The closest Durham comes to acknowledging this is in a brief passage in the Executive Summary: “Ultimately, of course, meeting those responsibilities comes down to the integrity of the people who take an oath to follow the guidelines and policies currently in place, guidelines that date from the time of Attorney General Levi and that are designed to ensure the rule of law is upheld.”
The rule of law broke down at the hands of devious and corrupt politicians and their army of treacherous bureaucratic hacks.
I realize that Durham was working under some constraints but exposing the full depth of corruption, and the grotesque failure of leadership, is the only way to protect the integrity of our presidential campaigns and prevent high level collusion like this from happening again. Top officials are largely given a pass with regards to any suggestions of accountability. Such violations of trust at the highest levels are of the utmost importance if a representative democracy such as ours is to survive. There is no room for ambiguity when it comes to something like that.
I don’t disagree with what you’re saying but Durham did state that 0bama and Biden were informed of the plot and it also unequivocally stated that Hillary Clinton “approved” of the plot that a subordinate brought to her.
Those are things that none of them can now deny with any credibility and of course none of them will sue him for defamation either.
It’s not what we wanted but it does push them further into a corner.
