Fox Panel Flames DeSantis: ‘Everything About Florida That You Love – DeSantis Inherited’

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis hasn’t even officially announced his 2024 presidential candidacy, but that didn’t stop a Fox Business panel from offering a brutal assessment of his standing in the Republican field.

The governor has barnstormed the country in recent months, especially early primary and caucus states where he hopes to drum up support ahead of his anticipated announcement this week. Polling shows him well behind former President Donald Trump.

On Monday’s edition of Kudlow, Larry Kudlow, Mark Simone, and Pete Hegseth discussed the ways they feel DeSantis has underperformed.

“I’m waiting for DeSantis to show me an economic prosperity agenda,” Kudlow said. “This is going to be a pocketbook election. This is going to be a kitchen table election. And the candidate who has a good, strong, pro-growth, pro-prosperity agenda is going to win.”

Kudlow chided DeSantis over his vendetta against Disney – one of Florida’s largest employers – after the company opposed legislation he signed into law last year.

“It is all about attacking a company in his state named Disney,” he continued. “He won’t let up. Conservative free market people don’t attack businesses. They do promote jobs and businesses. He hasn’t done that.”

“Everything about Florida that you love – Desantis inherited,” Simone said. “The no state tax, all that stuff. He’s done a great job of running it. But most of that was inherited. You watch DeSantis turn Disney into World War III. Imagine what he would do with Putin. This guy has got problems. He’d be great in 2028. Wait ’til then.”

Hegseth chimed in to hit DeSantis over his handling of questions about Ukraine.

“Part of his rollout that was so poor from DeSantis was being on both sides of the Ukraine issue,” he said, referring to the governor’s dithering on the question of Russia’s war on the country. “Trump’s been very clear about it: ‘It didn’t happen under my watch and it wouldn’t have happened. And I don’t want to start foreign wars.’ DeSantis kind of tip-toed on the establishment route and then went another direction.”

Simone essentially opined that DeSantis lacks people skills.

“He’s got all the drama of Trump without the charm or the humor,” he said. “That’s his problem.”

DeSantis won’t do [thing Trump didn’t really do as president] is not a compelling argument. Frickin’ Joe Biden has probably sanctioned China heavier over Russia and Mexican fentanyl.

DeSantis won Florida by a bigger margin against a Democrat than Donald Trump ever has and ever will.

Complete garbage, desantomonious wouldn't even have that job if not for Trump.

Rupert has been so busy lately dumping Jerry Faye Hall, negotiating with his new gal pal, and throwing Tucker under the bus, seems he has forgotten that he owns Fox Business Channel.

It probably won’t be long until Fox Business is on the Ron train just like ALL his Evil Media Empire.

DeSantis probably insulted their new BFF Dylan Mulvaney one too many times. I'm done listening to anything the Tranny News Network has to say.

Sanctions are baloney. Putin has been sanctioned more than any man alive. Has it had any effect on his actions?

Nein, nada, zero.

Only thing which can bring middle class manufacturing jobs back is unrelenting TARIFFS on any country with serious trade deficits.

Everything else is HOT AIR.

Manufacturing creates more nation wealth than all other national wealth creators combined (agriculture, mining & drilling, fishing and applied research). Manufacturing transformed a poor country of China into world’s largest economy by purchasing power, in 3 short decades.

Social media companies, retail, lawyers, accountants, doctors, etc don’t create wealth. They depend on wealth created by others.

If DeSantis comes out for Tariffs to balance trade with all countries, I can support him for president in primaries. I voted twice for DeSantis for governor.

Florida is Red because of people like me! I escaped Chicago. I don't need a DeSantis to vote Red. That said, DeSantis is an excellent Governor and ne owes the Florida voters who elected him for a second term as Governor.

“That said, DeSantis is an excellent Governor and ne owes the Florida voters who elected him for a second term as Governor.”

As a NATIVE Floridian I say ....

MAKE AMERICA FLORIDA!

“I don’t need a DeSantis to vote Red”

Of course. But DeSantis has proven that he draw the middle ground to vote red.

“This DeSantis bashing will only lead to one thing, A Democrat eventually winning the Governorship in Florida.

It needs to stop.

If Trump has ideas, let us hear them and stop attacking others”

100% spot on.

Pres. Trump sent aid to Ukraine in 2018, then froze aid in 2019. He can change his mind, but DeSantis can’t?

The governor has no power over international tariffs, but he has signed bills that restrict China and other countries of concern from purchasing land, particularly near military bases, that ban colleges and universities, including their employees, from accepting gifts from a college or university based in certain other countries, and that ban downloading Chinese-owned apps like TikTok to government devices/servers. Some Chinese citizens and a Chinese real estate firm are already suing Florida about the property restrictions.

“I will support either one if they get the nomination, but this personal destruction leading up to the primary season has to stop.”

But you know that...Trump being Trump....it won’t stop. It will probably only get worse (deja vu).

“ Why are they Dogpiling Ron deSantis?

I would have thought the New Fox News would be eager to promote anybody other than Trump.
********************************************************************

They’re trying EVERYTHING to damage BOTH DeSantis and Trump. They want a NeoCon Republican (e.g., Hailey, Asa Hutchison) to emerge from the primary as the candidate.
