The premise underlying your contribution is that governments don’t say one thing to the press and another behind closed doors.
I consider that unadulterated bullcrap, but you’re free to hold that opinion.

Of course I realize that governments say things privately they won't say to the press. But opposing Zelensky would such a volte face it would opposed by some in government who would leak it. These are also democracies, so a position this unpopular would tend to be leaked anyway to run up the flag pole to change public opinion. But I don't see any sign of that in their media, which, btw, is far freer than our is.

The Eastern Europeans and Scandinavians are the biggest boosters of Ukraine in Europe, so I can't see them making such a change. Hersh also has a 50 year history of saying anything to sabotage the US, which gives him a strong confirmation bias regarding any story damaging to the US.
