A bipartisan House duo has introduced a new immigration measure that would offer a pathway to citizenship for undocumented migrants in the U.S. while investing in border security.
The bill comes on the heels of a GOP-passed House bill all but guaranteed to fail in the Senate, which places severe limits on asylum.
Reps. María Elvira Salazar (R-Fla.) and Veronica Escobar (D-Texas) see their legislation as having a better chance for success that the hardline GOP bill, charging undocumented workers a “1.5 percent dignity levy” in taxes and other fees that will pay for both border security and job training for American citizens.

Just no and hell no. Our lovely and smart DIL is from Columbia and waiting on her green card. There were a lot fees and legal fees involved in this process. Where’s the bill to reimburse those who did the legal, lengthy and expensive route to citizenship?
HELL NO!!! These people deserve ZERO dignity and should be treated as the criminals they are and immediately deported. They are not refugees from anything, they are invaders who laugh at our laughs and mooch off hard working tax payers. I am sick and tired of this. Sick and tired. I just wrote a huge check to the feds to pay “my fair share.” Sick and tired of funding my own destruction. Send them all back.
