The Biden Administration has demanded that the Israeli government drop judicial reform from its agenda in exchange for the normalization of the Jewish State's relations with Saudi Arabia, Channel 12 News reported this evening (Tuesday).
According to the report, the Saudis are demanding the resumption of peace talks with the Palestinian Authority, while the US was the party to raise the demand over the judicial reforms in exchange for mediating the normalization talks.
On Sunday, it was reported that Bahrain had been mediating negotiations between Israel and Saudi Arabia on aspects of normalization, such as allowing direct flights between the two countries.
The current talks centered on allowing Israeli Arabs who wish to participate in the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca to travel directly from Ben Gurion Airport, a move which would not allow non-Muslim citizens of Israel to visit Saudi Arabia.

Judicial Reform in Israel must continue and succeed in order for Israel to continue to exist.
There is ZERO relation between the two. The Joe Biden administration isn’t serious anyways about normalizing relations between Israel and ANY of it’s neighbors. It’s another attempt to bully and intimidate Israel to abandoning needed reforms. And they’re doing this PRECISELY because they know that theses reforms will make Israel stronger.

Not only are elected representatives a minority on the panel, but a seven-member majority is needed for selecting a Supreme Court justice. This method gives the Supreme Court justices themselves veto power over the identity of their future colleagues, as no Supreme Court justice can be selected without the consent of current justices on the committee.
A negotiator isn’t needed. The leaders of the two countries are in regular direct communication, as are their defense officials.
