Connecticut: Democrat-Controlled House Votes to Add Grandfathered Guns to ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban

Connecticut’s Democrat-run House voted Thursday to expand the state’s “assault weapons” ban to include firearms that were exempted when the ban was originally passed.

The CT Mirror noted that Connecticut’s General Assembly has passed two “assault weapons” bans, and each time, the bans had a grandfather clause, allowing those who already owned the banned firearms to keep them.

On December 11, 2022, Breitbart News reported that Gov. Ned Lamont (D) pushed an expansion of the current ban to eliminate the grandfather clause exempting firearms that Democrats defined as “assault weapons”

So now that the Demoncrats are well on their way in destroying the Middle Class I guess it’s time for them to start confiscating “assault weapons” aka any semiautomatic weapon.

Given the 9-0 SCOTUS decision a few years ago against Massachusetts in “Caetano v Massachusetts” it seems highly likely that “assault weapon” bans will be overturned in the Federal courts.

In 2016 SCOTUS handed down a 9-0 decision in a case called "Caetano v Massachusetts". The case centered on which weapons of today are protected,and are not protected,under the 2nd Amendment. The Massachusetts state Supreme Court ruled that a weapon that was found in Caetano's possession wasn't protected.

SCOTUS struck down that state law...9-0...and in the narrative that accompanied the decision the state court's "logic" in upholding their law was referred to as "frivolous"

That suggests to me that "assault weapon" bans might suffer a similar fate in the Federal courts.
