Some masking and testing precautions are back in place at the State Capitol Building as positive COVID-19 cases escalate.
According to Senate President Pro Tempore Martin Looney, there had been several positive COVID-19 tests in the State Senate over the past few days.
The measures have been put in place to "ensure the Senate continues to operate effectively," said Looney.
Looney did not say if the COVID-19 cases were among legislators, staffers or visitors.
Going forward, all visitors and guests must mask up in the common areas on the third floor of the State Capitol and in the Senate Gallery.
State Senators and staff in the chamber will do rapid tests.
According to Looney, the wearing of masks is encouraged in the Senate chamber but is not required if that person tests negative for COVID-19

“The mask” has become some sort of sacred symbol to the left.
What it means is that you’re showing you follow government dictates, no matter how ridiculous they may be, and that you’re a good brainwashed citizen.
Yep. It’s like when I went to high school and they gave us all our “school IDs” and told us freshmen on orientation day that we had to wear them, clipped to our shirts, or on a necklace, whenever we were in school.
Well, the next day, the first day of “real school”, we quickly found out that nobody who wasn’t a freshman wore their IDs. And anyone who was wearing an ID was just a target for hazing. So 99% of the freshman were not wearing their IDs by the end of day 2, even if they risked getting in trouble for it. But there was always that 1% that continued to wear it all year long. Because they were the “good kids” who followed all the rules, no matter how stupid.

I got in a yelling match with that a-hole Looney. When he was running for mayor he came out to Yale and started blathering about his union crap and letting MS13 simply run that city. Sanctuary city bull-crap when these kids tried almost daily to push me off my Ninja 1200 and take it.
He tried to come after me through the faculty but didn’t get very far. When you talk out against CT politicians they go after you relentlessly.
