Former GOP strategist turned Lincoln Project co-founder Steve Schmidt ripped into Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) in a new episode of his political podcast, "The Warning."
"There he is," said Schmidt, showing an image of DeSantis during his interview with Fox News in which he claimed he would "smash" leftism in the United States as president. "Governor Ron DeSantis. The Mussolini of Tallahassee, using a U.S. Navy war vessel as a visual prop just days after his disastrous launch, which spawned the fantastic hashtag, "#DeSaster."
"Who is it that he wants to smash?" said Schmidt. "Is he going to arrest Bernie Sanders? Is he going to send AOC to a rehabilitation and re-education camp?"
This moment, for Schmidt, encapsulated how DeSantis is unfit for office — and how his presidential campaign, hyped by numerous GOP donors looking for an alternative to Trump, will crash and burn.
"Ron DeSantis' campaign is going to be epic," said Schmidt. "As in, an epic debacle for the ages. He will raise more money against lower vote results than any presidential candidate in American history. He's going to make Texas Senator Phil Gramm look like Bill Clinton, when it comes to politics, by the time this is done."
"Let me just say this about Ron DeSantis, and his wanting to smash and break and hurt," he continued. "The job of the American president is to temporarily lead the American people, and to make the Union more perfect. Ron DeSantis doesn't understand that. He's as unfit at a moral level, at a character level, as any person has ever been, including Donald Trump, running for this office."
"He will fail," said Schmidt.

Not all Trump supporters are Trump cultists. Trump cultists are creepy people who lie, deceive and smear DeSantis without backing it up. They make outlandish claims in the same way the left made outlandish claims against Trump.

If DeSantis was a real RINO, Schmidt would not attack him. Schmidt would stay silent, in the same way Trump stayed silent on the debt ceiling calamity negotiated by Trump's hand picked RINO Speaker, Kevin McCarthy.
It is Trump who is the RINO and it becomes clearer every day.
Schmidt is certifiable.

The way I see it Fascism is a terrible medicine. Your nation is falling apart, all is a mess, there is social unrest—you take the fascist pill. How can you spot a fascist land—they have a single leader—called The leader. These governments do not outlive their leader. Schmidt is a country club Republican that constantly bad-mouthed Sarah Palin for going rogue and blamed Palin for the McCann loss to Obama. Schmidt is way out there.

The purpose of bringing Trump into this is to demonstrate that the Trump cultists (not to be confused with Trump supporters) claim DeSantis is a RINO. The RINOs do not want to support DeSantis because he is too conservative for them.
But that will not stop the Trump cultists of claiming DeSantis is a RINO. They need to LIE and DECEIVE and SLANDER because they cannot logically defend Trump's leftward move.
But I got tired of a core group of desantis supporters/likely past nevertrumpers, who were posting lies and mis-leading information about Trump, but desantis was pure as snow..
And this poster is one of those in the group that lies about things....

Now, when I post that I feel there are desantis supporters that lie about things.... I can show it.
For instance, this poster pushes the comment that I said rove was advising desantis, and thus I was one of the lying Trump cultist here, which I haven't....
