FLINT, Michigan (AP) — General Motors plans to invest more than $1 billion in two Flint, Michigan, manufacturing plants for the production of the next-generation internal combustion engine heavy-duty trucks.
Gerald Johnson, executive vice president, Global Manufacturing and Sustainability, said Monday that the company will build internal combustion vehicles throughout this decade, in addition to making electric vehicles.
GM has a goal of building only electric passenger vehicles in the United States by 2035.

Can you imagine the depths of graft involved to keep these Plants in Michigan? Astounding.
Great news! Made in USA!
Leaded fuel only...
I've seen recent YouTube video of it, and your description is mild if anything.
It looks like one of Dante's Circles of Hell. It's a darktown, 80% non-White.
It is also Michael "Fat Boy" Moore's hometown.
The cars will programmed to stop 5 times a day and turn in the direction of Mecca.
Only good thing about Flint is, it was the birthplace of Grand Funk Railroad.
I recently traveled to northern Nevada. Mining country.
Did not see a single electric vehicle. Exception was some kind of electric bus at the SLC airport.
A lithium mine in Nevada is still attracting investors, but who knows how long that will last?
As a family member of GM family. Yes discounts on vehicles etc. I have purchased my last GM truck. The quality has gone to crap. Trans problems and now engine problems at 78k miles for my 19 silverado. It’s a shame but I feel I wasted a ton of money in this truck.
GM Flint was the nastiest dirtiest auto plant of any I’ve been in.
At least there is some sanity in that decision. 👍🏻👍🏻
Well, there is certainly no free market rationale for staying in a place like this.
Nothing says “sustainability” like Flint.
Bwahahahahahaha.
Anything that can be moved in the plant will be stolen—either by employees or the natives.
Visit Flint—and let us know what you think then.
GM and the UAW are used to it. It is how they operate.
“GM and the UAW are used to it. It is how they operate.”
That is why will not buy any new vehicle made by the UAW.
Maybe a classic old car or truck but nothing new.
Toyota’s and Mazda’s never breakdown.
yes, but it is also the birthplace of GM.

GM Flint was the nastiest dirtiest auto plant of any I’ve been in.I once knew a NHSTA plant inspector who conned himself into a trip to visit Toyota lines in Japan. All he could talk about was how clean the floors were.
