I'm old enough to remember the evolution of seat belt laws. Same "logic" applies.
I wonder if it will be families already here being paid to house their relatives. This happened in the PNW with Russian immigrants. They could not believe their luck to have the government pay them to care for their parents and grandparents. Since the housed person being paid for needs their own room, sometimes the family will have their children sleep in the living room. IF CPS comes by, the kids go in the parents room until the visit is over. “What a Country!”

Yep- me too- and motorcycle helmet laws too (I think Maine and NH doesn’t require one- but not sure- was a long time ago i was there)
