National Review was always gatekeepers for conservative thought, but at least Buckley was smart and funny.
Now I have no idea why its still around.

What in the world has happened to Andrew McCarthy? I once thought he had his head screwed on straight. Boy was I wrong or has he totally flipped out? He reminds me of Bill Barr who seems intelligent but is dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to Trump. Both he and McCarthy have severe cases of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

So is Andrew McCarthy trying to say that Trump was foolish to not simply sell the documents for ten million like Biden would have? Is that his point?

Rush didn’t live long enough to see the complete beclowning of the National Review and McCarthy.

Oh, please.

Rush would fellate McCarthy every time he was on. Just like he fellated Paul Ryan in January 2017 when he was a guest caller.

As President, Trump truly had the right to declassify any documents he wanted to. However, unfortunately, there is little evidence to show that he did declassify any of the documents that are cited in the indictment against him. Worse, Trump’s statements recorded on tape appear to indicate he never de-classified all the documents in his possession, which has been the core of the public defense since this story broke.

I still don’t think he’s worthy of prosecution over this, for a long list of reasons. But since the charges have been brought, he will have to defend himself before the court, and the judge. His best hope is that the charges will be thrown out, in deference to the Presidential Records Act, which the indictment didn’t even acknowledge, but that is probably a long shot.

.
Classified and National Security Documents in garages, Hillary’s bathroom, a Felon’s Computer where he was swapping files with other Felons, stored in Yahoo and public Email accounts were no problem.

In fact, per the DoJ, it was insurmountable to prove Ill intent, even after Hillary hired a firm to wipe her Servers where they couldn’t be Forensically reconstructed. Hillary even told the FBI they needed to wrap it up - and they did!

Conveniently, they expect you to wear blinders and be outraged at Trump, alone.

They just let Biden’s personal attorneys conduct the “search” for his Top Secret National Security Documents.

What in the world has happened to Andrew McCarthy?

30 pieces of silver from the Deep State will do that.

Ask Benedict Pence.

My understanding is that the FBI put the docs in the bathroom while they were collecting the documents during the raid.

Trump has the power to declassify, so they were not there illegally.

McCarthy mentions nothing of the Biden bribery scheme unfolding, nor a word about Biden who had classified docs as a vp and senator in his garage.

F Andrew McCarthy. These weak hacks need to be purged from the GOP.

People in their right minds who care about the country could never defend the National Review for being such nitpicking Media-Dem supporting aholes.

Andy McCarthy is the same jackass who criticized the Trump administration for firing FBI hack Andrew McCabe even after acknowledging that McCabe was a criminal. That right there was enough to convince me that Federal prosecutors and "law enforcement" personnel should always be presumed to be duplicitous liars.

The guy who pays the biggest price for this right now -- in my humble opinion -- is Ron DeSantis. He's a former Federal prosecutor himself, which means he deserves all the respect any normal, decent American would give to a child molester.

I’m sorry, I assumed you saw the video posted on FR several times today including in this thread.

Robert Barnes breaks down the case listing every violation of the constitution. 50 min video well worth watching and more proof that these ‘expert talking heads’ are either stupid, gaslighting or paid opposition.

However, unfortunately, there is little evidence to show that he did declassify any of the documents that are cited in the indictment against him.

The President of the United States has no obligation to formally "declassify" anything. And without making any official statement about these materials he can establish any limited form of "declassification" that he wishes -- e.g., that he can determine that he can use the material freely but refuse to share it with anyone else (reporters, political advisors, etc.).

OK, I’ll watch...thanks for the link.

The “Article II” areas that may apply liked below...(good for presidential communications/discussions, but not classified briefing materials?...will see what R. Barnes has to say):

Andrew McCarthy just made public claims about what documented were in question after the Trump Raid. Trumps lawyers can’t get copies or even a brief description, but a TB hack now has full access.

They secrets can’t be important if the journalist already know what in the papers……. Somebody already leaked it from the DOJ or FBI, which means it’s not important.

Either that or it’s just another political garbage article. Just saying

Andrew McCarthy and Brett Baier make out they don’t know this.

Hunter used Classified Intelligence Briefings - sold them, in effect. If Trump got a better contract from a Foreign Entity for Classified Intel Assessments, what would they call it?
