Poland lodged claim for $1.3 trillion in compensation, while Greece seeks over $300B for damages during war
Senior Polish officials Tuesday said they plan to expand a campaign to seek massive World War II reparations from Germany, turning to Greece and other European countries as potential allies.
Poland last year formally demanded compensation of $1.3 trillion — an amount close to the size of its annual gross domestic product — while Greece is seeking more than $300 billion for damage incurred by occupying Nazi Germans during World War II.
Germany says damage claims were settled in the aftermath of the war, but Arkadiusz Mularczyk, a deputy Polish foreign minister, said Tuesday that his government in Warsaw would collaborate with other countries that suffered under Nazi occupation.

Of course, with the mere mention of reparations, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, the NAACP, et al., immediately demand their cut.
Germany is a sucker if they pay them. WW2 was 80 years ago.
Ridiculous...those that perpetuated the war are dead and gone. Germany was reduced to rubble for the most part. You cannot visit the sins of the father on the son...
World War 2 came about in large part due to onerous reparations owed by Germany for an earlier conflict.

Germany should demand reparations from Poland and Lithuania for their invasion of 1410.
The entire world has gone mad. Is anyone still alive who survived WW II? Their grandkids suddenly want reparations.
Greece suffered a lot as a result of the German invasion and occupation (which happened because Hitler felt he had to come to Mussolini’s aid after the Italians weren’t able to conquer Greece on their own), but nowhere near on the scale of Poland. 6 million Poles died in WWII (half of them Jews, half of them Catholics).
Except Germany didn’t exist in 1410. Perhaps they can ask Austria to demand on their behalf and then split the money.
Good luck with that. It took them almost 100 years to pay off their WWI reparations.

Thats pretty much what happened after WW1. Germany had to pay the Allies reparations for the war. Twenty years later, Germany visited Warsaw and Paris as they weren’t particularly happy about being stuck with the bill for a war that everyone had a hand in.
So I say Poland should play the Reparations Card.
How much are they demanding from Russia?
