I never said it did, but I did say all the blame cannot be laid at Woddy's feet.

But I never said it did.

I gave him 60% responsibility.

Time to quit pointing at others while ignoring our own blame.

That is something that I usually hear from people who are trying to deflect the blame from the person who did the deed.

I am sorry that the fact that Wilson was responsible for laying the foundation that has lead to a major loss of American sovereignty bothers you. I don't know why and frankly don't care.

I do know that it is true. And I do know that people ignore it for some reason.

Which is why I bring it up.

Andrew Jackson ignored courts and laws and used his power to ethnically cleanse lands that he also sometimes happened to have a financial interest in.

Teddy Roosevelt threatened American citizens with military intervention and abused his power in one way or another every day of his presidency.

John Adams and Abraham Lincoln suspended habeas corpus, the latter without any congressional approval.

The list goes on & on, and the ignoring of these abuses have all paid a toll upon this Republic.

I am not trying to minimalize the damage Woody has done, merely emphasizing that the damage was due to lots of abuses to the constitution throughout our history.

The cumulative affect of those abuses have had disastrous ramifications by providing encouragement for future abuses to subvert the constitution to achieve desired results.

Our own forefathers who developed this nation knew it was riddled with flaws, that really only worked as long as the people maintained a belief in the Lord or a higher-being who was the creator. Sans that belief, it became a human creation which would eventually fall due to human imperfection, if divine guidance was ignored and not sought by the people & especially the leaders.

Your placing an arbitrary percentage of responsibility means nothing. It's your opinion, that most likely was developed & nurtured by the opinion of others. Woody certainly had a hand in it. But there were many hands even in his decisions, including the hands of the citizens themselves. He could not have enacted his changes, if he was the only one that believed in his decisions.

That is something that I usually hear from people who are trying to deflect the blame from the person who did the deed.

Again, that is the conviction you hold that your belief is the only correct belief to have.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it is really a shallow belief that contains some truth to it, but is a woefully inaccurate & inadequate examination on several levels.

First being that a president is incapable doing anything without the consensus of other politicians within the other two branches of government. Too many times they purposely abrogate their responsibilities completely, in order to lay blame else where. Secondly citizens have also ignored their responsibilities by remaining silent. Lastly, the press has not only ignore their responsibilities to inform the public, they have intentionally misinformed the public to promote one party over another.

Even I admit that I have not fully examined or provided things such as biases for example.

It is complex, not simple at all. Laying a percentage of blame in one place is just not even a close representation of truth. Partial truth for sure, but not impartial truth.

It is also not an exercise to deflect responsibility either. It's an honest attempt to determine if the blame lays solely at the feet of one person or not. My conclusion is that the blame does not lay at the feet of a lone individual. It lays at the feet of many people.
