This is an egregious action against farmers whose families have owned their land for generations. The private companys want to just take their property. This case will probably be in the courts for years. If it makes it to the Supreme Court, it would be a perfect time for SCOTUS to reverse their Kelo decision.

This crap about CO2 being a pollutant and the notion that is causes "global warming" needs to be put to bed.

There is NO "Science" supporting this nonsense.

The "models" are all fraudulent and can't even be applied to historic climate data to demonstrate cause and effect.

Just save it in liquid form and sell it to bars and soda fountains, etc. Sheesh.

As far as getting rid of it in the atmosphere (not that it needs to be gotten rid of) just plant more trees.

NE New Mexico has lots of pure natural carbon dioxide under the Bravo Dome.

His wife reached inside, pulling out a handful of letters. Within the small pile was an envelope from a company she had never heard of—Summit Carbon Solutions.

Sending CO2 underground under pressure is about as stupid as it gets. What a harebrained scheme! This company must be getting hundreds of millions of dollars from the Federal government.

I dint read the article but I bet they are sending it to North Dakota to be “disposed of.” They will pump it into an oil field to increase production. Talk about getting money from both sides.

I believe the Grenniacs, Bidenacs and AOCacts are gearing up to make Climate Change the emergency in order to seize control of the 2024 elections and insure Basement Biden wins by 91 million votes this time.

Governor Noem should immediately call a special session of the Legislature to address the issue of imminent domain. That armed guards are being used to “protect” survey teams shows the tyranny being used to push this project. It is ironic that the “polluting” CO2 comes from those “green” ethanol plants. Note many members of Congress from the area, particularly South Dakota Senator John Thune, are virtual whores of the ethanol lobby.

Has anyone considered the possible effects of injecting high pressure CO2 into deep underground formations? Oklahoma has experienced in increase in earthquakes purportedly due to fluid injection into oil and gas wells.

CO2 is 0.04% of the atmosphere. Isolating it is its own major project.

Has anyone presented ideas on how CO2 would be stored in the ground?

Is SD the destination for this CO2, or just the route to the destination.

What other possible motivations are there for such a pipe line? What else could it be used for?

The Farmers if they get Unified just need a Terms of Use Agreement to everyone they sell to, if You Sell or Deliver ANY product that ends up within 100 miles of the Capitol of the STate or Washington DC, you will NEVER purchase anything from us again.

LET THEM STARVE

This is an attempt to reduce the CO2 impact of corn ethanol production...(which BTW President Trump was recently promoting in Iowa). Get rid of “food as fuel” and problem solved, no CO2 pipeline needed.

Also, why isn’t the pipeline agreement an “easement”/right-of-way issue and not an eminent domain issue? Most pipelines are operated with landowners farming right over the top....the pipeline company has an easement for inspections/repairs. See last link below for how petroleum pipelines thru ag land are managed:
