The constitution grants limited rights to the fed.
One of those rights is immigration and naturalization.
The states have no say, therefore they have no standing.
Right, wrong or indifferent, there it is.

Is that why seven states now allow illegal aliens to claim residency for in-state tuition for college?

They had to explicitly change the concept of “resident” to delete citizenship as a pre-requisite to being a resident to pull this off. Same thing with drivers licenses for illegal aliens. Those are “immigration” laws. Where is the Soopreme Clownshow on that?
