A charity worker has been detained in Ukraine after he was caught trying to buy an 11-month-old baby from his mother and sell the child abroad.
The Daily Mail reported that the 43-year-old man from the Transcarpathian Oblast was detained after he allegedly gave a $1,000 downpayment to the boy’s mother, claiming that he would ensure a family in Europe would adopt him to live away from the war in the Eastern European country.
The woman, from Zhytomyr, was offered a total of $5,000 for the baby, and the man allegedly intended to sell him to traffickers for $25,000.
The man was seen detained with a female accomplice at the Ukraine-Slovakia border. The man was arrested for attempted human trafficking and faces up to 15 years in prison.
The boy was rescued, but the man is suspected to have sold three other children under the same pretext.
Ukrainian journalist Vitaliy Glagola said the man "had been looking for parents who were ready to sell their child for organs," according to the Daily Mail.
"Law enforcement officers have operational information that this was not for adoption to the EU, and the child was to have been sold to [illegal] oregan transplanters," he added.
Karolina Wierzbinska, a coordinator at the human rights organization Homo Faber in Poland, said she has seen teams or couples working together to lure Ukrainian refugees traveling to the Polish border into their cars.
"[We see teams] waiting for people arriving from Ukraine and pretending to offer rides or lodging to women distressed and exhausted from their journey," she said.
"We’re also seeing multiple couples, typically a male and female, having traveled to the border by car, attempting to lure women using similar tactics. We intervene in such cases by approaching the person acting suspiciously and asking them to register in our volunteer directory — in response to which they typically run away."

It’s worse than that
Hammond? Wurlitzer? With a Leslie?
Put him in the army and send him to Bakhmut.
Hey you look healthy enough....How about your organs Mr. Human Trafficker?
Whats worse are the mothrs who are willing to sell their children - but why wouldn’t they given women killing their own children in the womb isn’t a problem these days either.
Oy. Wait til people find out
Would not surprise me if there is a US connection...I don’t think there is a more evil nation on earth at this point in time than us...and more and more of the world is coming to the same conclusion. Damned democrats and rinos have destroyed America...we will have to really fight hard and smart to build it back.
People involved in the selling AND buying process need to be slaughtered.
There is a special degree of punishment in hell for maggots like that!
That there are women desperate to get their children out of the horror that is their current situation I believe.
That there are unscrupulous men who will take advantage of that, promising to put the children up for adoption in better circumstances I believe.
And I know there are westerners who are willing to pay for children to adopt. Paying the mother $1000 then accepting $25000 for an adoption in Western Europe seems like a believable financial transaction. It’s probably illegal in at least one of the jurisdictions involved, but there’s enough profit to motivate ignoring the law.
But this stuff about harvesting organs? Where’s the market for that? Where are there facilities capable of performing transplants? And how high would the profit need to be to motivate people working is such a facility to engage in such an act?
Sorry, it just doesn’t pass the smell test.
Also, how would you keep the organs viable for any length of time?
If you have sellers then you need to have buyers - like politicians and their puppet masters.
It’s good to see the government of Ukraine stopping this beast. According to some on this website, the government facilitates it, rather than stops it.
Here is proof that’s a propaganda lie.
............
You have no sense.... of smell
One is happenstance, FRiend, i5 does not mean the previous assertion is false.
