‘Great Day For America’: Trump Reacts To SCOTUS Striking Down Affirmative Action

Former President Donald Trump celebrated the Supreme Court striking down affirmative action Thursday.

The Supreme Court ruled affirmative action is a violation of the 14th Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause in a Thursday ruling.

“This is a great day for America. People with extraordinary ability and everything else necessary for success, including future greatness for our Country, are finally being rewarded,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“This is the ruling everyone was waiting and hoping for and the result was amazing. It will also keep us competitive with the rest of the world. Our greatest minds must be cherished and that’s what this wonderful day has brought. We’re going back to all merit-based—and that’s the way it should be!”

Trump nominated three of the current justices on the court — Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett. The 6-3 majority also overturned Roe v. Wade in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case, returning abortion regulation to the states. (RELATED: Media Neglects Asian Students In Trump DOJ Affirmative Action Memo Coverage)

The Court considered the case brought forth by students alleging Harvard University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill discriminated against white and Asian students through affirmative action policies. An 18-year-old Asian student named Jon Wang told Fox News affirmative action policies prevented him from being admitted into the nation’s top-tier schools despite his exceptionally high SAT score.

George Mason University law professor David Bernstein told the Daily Caller News Foundation there are ways universities can skirt the Supreme Court’s decision, including prioritizing students who are committed to diversity instead of focusing on their standardized test scores.

And absolutely no one seems to care about the Moore case and how Roberts and Kavanaugh guaranteed more election bullsh*t.

Please note that NOT discriminating against someone based on race, and adhering to basic Constitutional principles such as Congress having sole power of the purse strings, are considered ‘far right’ principles.

Thank you President Trump for running, winning, and then appointing three Supreme Court Justices.

It’s them deciding that, contrary to the language of the US Constitution, state legislatures aren’t the authority on election laws.

Ergo, it leaves open lawsuits and all the other election interference crap pulled by the Left and activist judges, etc.

Trump is jumping on the AA band wagon.

He supported Affirmative Action when it was politically safe to do so. Now that AA is dead Trump reverses himself.

Such a con man and grifter!

You are vile to call Trump a grifter. Malicious of you to say that of someone who gave up his salary as President and has suffered mightily for defending America.

Affirmative Action was a bad policy when it was introduced and integrated into the nation’s laws. The “soft” racism of lowed expectations that resulted produced MANY substandard “scholars”, and greatly devaluated those persons of color who WERE actually very high achievers, as they appeared indistinguishable from the bumbling mediocrities who owed their degrees to AA alone.

Dr. Cornel West, who styles himself a “Professor, Philosopher, Author, and Activist”, is a rabid socialist, and at almost the opposite end of the scale from Dr. Ben Carson, a member of the Trump Cabinet, a renown neurosurgeon, academic, and author.

Which one do you think really earned the title of “Doctor”, and has the practical experience to bring honor to the title?

Compare Clarence Thomas and Ketanji Brown Jackson.

“He supported Affirmative Action when it was politically safe to do so.”

“I’m fine with that.”

In 2015 (running for president) he wrote that doing gun purchase background checks did nothing except make legal purchases harder. In 2018 after the Parkland shooting: ““We’re going to be very strong on background checks. We’re going to be doing very strong background checks.”

Also see his pro-assault weapons ban, bump stocks and taking guns away from people without due process.
