Jemele Hill accuses Asians of 'carrying the water for white supremacy' for backing affirmative action decision

The Supreme Court ruled against affirmative action in a major case on Thursday

Asian Americans praising the U.S. Supreme Court for declaring affirmative action to be unconstitutional "carried the water" for White supremacy, The Atlantic writer Jemele Hill claimed.

In a 6-3 decision on Thursday, the Supreme Court ruled that using race as a factor in college admissions violated the 14th Amendment's equal protection clause. After the ruling, many Asian Americans, including Asian Wave Alliance President Yiatin Chu, celebrated the decision as a step towards equal treatment at major universities.

"I told my daughter that today is a big day. They’ve ended affirmative action. ‘Isn’t it what you’re been fighting for?’ she asked. I said yes," Chu tweeted.

"Can’t wait until she reads that you gladly carried the water for white supremacy and stabbed the folks in the back whose people fought diligently for Asian American rights in America," Hill wrote.

Affirmative Action was sold decades ago (like in the 70s) as a chance for blacks to catch up after slavery and Jim Crow laws. Instead of catching up it seems like they've used it as an opportunity to fall further behind without consequences.

“I told my daughter that today is a big day. They’ve ended affirmative action.”

Of course, I applaud the majority decision. And it would be nice if they really had “ended affirmative action.”

But California voters abolished raced-based affirmative action in the public colleges 27 years ago, but the practice has continued nonetheless. The college admissions people have used and will continue to use every trick in the book to keep admitting black students with lower qualifications compared to white and Asian students. How do they do it? Let me count the ways.
Abolishing standardized test scores.
Admitting kids based on zip code and census tract data.
Targeting certain high schools based on high black enrollment.
Looking for race-based code words in admission essays

6. Re your comments on affirmative action and race based college admissions. Those under the AA entry part program have now been “re-enslaved” by taking out loans they might never be able to pay off, even with some penalties or loan percentages reduced or even eliminated.

Welcome to the new ghetto built by the Democrats, fools. You can get in but you probably will never get out. There is no such thing as a free lunch. You must have missed that economic’s class, if you ever had one.

And yet you still vote for those Marxists. Time to pay the piper. Oh wait, you sold you soul to them a long time ago so student loans aren’t the only thing they’ve got on you.

When did blacks fight for Asian rights? I missed that.

What bugs the African queen is that high Asian achievement completely undermines CRT’s assertion that white supremacy exists. I’d like to be the first to tell her that black kids are going to have to work harder to get the grades and scores up to get into college.

Just a thought, Aunt Jemima, but if it hasn’t worked it’s magic after fifty years of trying, maybe it doesn’t work.

Asians are massively discriminated against under the DEI regime. On average, they outperform whites academically. They are the biggest victims in the affirmative action racket.

Harvard’s numbers leaked in the course of the Asian students’ lawsuit. Compared to a black applicant for admission, an Asian student had to score more than 200 points higher on the SAT to have an equal chance of admission.

This doofus thinks Asians are supposed to take a 200 point hit and accept it without complaint? That’s the kind of c**p that gives cretins a bad name.

“This doofus thinks Asians are supposed to take a 200 point hit and accept it without complaint?”

Blacks view themselves as America’s Royal Family deserving special treatment, special rules and privileges because of who they are.

That is exactly what the Republic was established to oppose—special treatment for royalty.

Hey irishjuggler, insightful points there.

But I think I’m missing something. Isn’t the outrage over Affirmative Action to do with Federal and State funding of these universities?

If a university, such as Hillsdale College, who doesn’t accept any government funds, were to fashion its own admission policy through racial, economic, or other criteria, what’s to prevent them from doing so?

Am I right that Affirmative Action is an issue because 99% of colleges and universities are public funded? Nothing I’ve read so far about Affirmative Action addresses this issue.

And what about Black colleges? Does this SC decision cause them problems?

What say you, FReepers?

They will fight, but they can be sued. And in a system with a lot of conservative judges.

It will take some years, but there is a reason Sotomayor and Jackson went berserk in their dissents.

And don't forget, just like affirmative action, slavery and Jim Crow laws were actually created by Democrats to keep control of the black population.
