According to polls, Native Hawaiians want independence provided, of course, that U.S. continues to protect them from invasion and continues to send them money.

But, polls of all Hawaiians indicate no. We’re happy being part of U.S.

The people of Hawaii are mostly Asian or European or a mix. Less than 10 percent of Hawaii are Native Hawaiians.

When my dad was stationed there in the 70s, and we lived on base, almost all of my elementary school teachers were of Japanese heritage.

Lots of Hollywood celebrities have huge mansions on Maui, be a shame if anything happened to them.

I constantly amazes me how too many people on this site

1) Read a comment by a random wacko and generalize that it reflects the views of a whole group/region 2) Are willing to up and give up U.S territory because of 1) above. Hawaii and Puerto Rico are integral parts of this nation and the overwhelming number of citizens agree. Those who want to split and weaken this nation can you know what to themselves.
