An IDF soldier mistook him for a terrorist and shot him dead before he realized the mistake. There’s a pile of stones where he fell, commemorating him. Similar pile of stones further down the road where three young hitch hikers were murdered by a drive-by terrorist with an AK47. Perhaps they replaced that pile with a more permanent monument by now.
