And I think almost half of these 105 million rotate begging at various traffic intersections around my area!
First off, retirees are not supposed to be working—I am, in part because I like it and in part because I need it (thank you Joe). That number would be much lower if the SocSec age people were not included.
Second, I would guess that if we were to go back to, say, 1910, there would be a similar chunk of adult working-age people who would not be working—except that they would really be working, just in the kitchen and the backyard garden and the wringer washer and the homework table.
Wow! So why is this sick evil POS administration encouraging third world male invaders to continue to trample on our soil if there are no jobs? You can only have so many gardeners and fruit and vegetable pickers…WHAT IS THE REASON? For one purpose and one purpose alone! Substitute America for France at the present..…just a thought!

So, subtracting people who did well enough to retire early and others, we have many millions of bums living in mom’s basement. Dangerous bums potentially. Idle hands are the devil’s playground.
My husband applied for twenty jobs last year… jobs no one in there right mind would accept.. no takers.
In times of economic downturn employers will attrition people out and go lean. But.. I have seen restaurants close for several usual hours of the day instead of hiring help.
It appears we are in real trouble… but employers are holding out for… AI.
Reminder.. AI won’t be paying SS taxes, which is going to sink the Marxists ship and take us under with it.
If our government ever intended to give us a full accounting of the employment picture in the US, they’d include a few other categories in their labor statistics.
1. Working age Americans not working and receiving public assistance.
2. Homemakers in a working, tax paying family.
3. Working age Americans not working due to physical or mental disabilities.
And, of course, there are the familiar categories of those working and the unemployed, but seeking work. And there are other useful categories.
The stats are probably readily available and our government could give a full accounting of the working age population, if they so desired. And it would tell us a lot more than the current labor statistics that are released.
(the housing bubble has started to burst, and the commercial real estate market is a giant mess.)
I’ve said, just wait until this new-found wealth starts to rapidly disappear.
Many will be surprised.

Of those 105 million “working age”, how many are employable?
Age does not guarantee a job, or even a chance at a job, if you’re a drug addled loser, self entitled spoiled brat, or mentally unfit transwhatever.
I’m guessing that number would astonish many.
I was laid off in 2017, I got decent money as severance and decided to chill and do some traveling and pretend I was retired for a year or 2
I decided I start applying for jobs in dec 2019 cause I figured I would get a jump on my new years resolution.
That did not work out well for me, especially because I refused to get shot up by a bunch of lying corporate drug pushers. My son got fired, my kinda x-gf got fired. I didn’t get hired.
Today things are better, but worse because of Inflation (which is literally taxation without representation) Those illegal tax proceeds are being used to fund Ukraine and massive kickbacks to many, if not most politicians on both sides.

I retired at 52 and don’t miss it
The population of this country is 330 mm. Let’s say 30 milllion are 70+. Under 18 is another 40 mm. That leaves 260 million.
And 105 million of them are unemployed?
Someone needs to go to math class.
