It’s been nearly a week since Gov. Ron DeSantis’ team released an ugly anti-LGBTQ video, sparking some pushback. As NBC News reported, the Florida Republican, whose presidential campaign is struggling, defended the video publicly for the first time.
“Identifying Donald Trump as really being a pioneer in injecting gender ideology into the mainstream, where he was having men compete against women in his beauty pageants — I think that’s totally fair game, because he’s now campaigning saying the opposite,” DeSantis told conservative commentator Tomi Lahren in an interview for her streaming show “Tomi Lahren is Fearless.”
Keep in mind, the governor and his operation had nearly a week to figure out exactly what to say about the video. This, evidently, is what they came up with.

I think the topic is completely fair game.
I just want to see how the Desantis backers spin their fervent claims that this wasn’t done by the Desantis camp. LOL.
It was a bizarre ad. First off, we all know Trump is OK with gays. He was elected the first time with everyone having that knowledge. As for trannies, yes, he’s OK more than I’d prefer with the Caitlyn Jenner stuff, but That doesn’t mean he’s going to pick judges that force men in women sports or issue executive orders requiring men in women’s bathrooms or whatever. He’s already demonstrated that. So what’s the point?
Second, putting bodybuilders and Brad Pitt and all that into the video is just weird coming from one’s own campaign. The young guys that do that stuff With Trump are doing it organically. Partly in jest, partly in tribute. It’s a whole different feel because it’s real.
This was a terrible ad and does not speak well for his campaign.
