Globalist Dutch Government Collapses, PM Mark Rutte Resigns, as Pro-Farmer Populists Threaten to Upend Establishment in Upcoming Elections

The globalist coalition government in The Netherlands collapsed on Friday evening, with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte tendering his resignation to King Willem-Alexander on Saturday, paving the way for elections to be held by November and the possibility of the populist pro-farmer BBB party to come into power.

The fourth government of Mark Rutte, 56, the Netherlands’ longest-serving prime minister, collapsed on Friday evening as coalition partners were seemingly incapable of coming to a compromise on the issue of migration and asylum policy. This marks the third time since coming to power in 2010 that a Rutte government failed to complete a full term in office.

The alleged dispute that forced the cabinet to collapse came over calls from Rutte’s neo-liberal People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) and the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) to cut migration and increase restrictions on family reunification of asylum seekers in The Netherlands, a move that the more pro-mass migration coalition partner D66 and ChristenUnie parties could not accept.

The shock collapse of the government forced King Willem-Alexander to return to cut his vacation short and return to his country on Saturday to accept the resignation of Prime Minister Rutte, broadcaster NOS reports.

The collapse of the government comes as asylum applications to the country increased by a third in 2022 to 46,000 and projections expect over 70,000 more to come this year, the most since the 2015 European Migrant Crisis under a previous Rutte government.

I’ll make four observations about this episode:

1. After the 2021 election, it took NINE months for Rutte to form this 4-party coalition. Most everyone was predicting an early end because it was so weak.

2. There’s 13 parties holding seats in the Parliament, and this multi-party business is presenting serious issues in building a government.

3. Presently, the BBB-Party (the pro-farmer’s group) hold the lead, and I would generally expect them to win....with one partner being the PVV (right-wing). But if you add it up....they will also be forced into a four-party situation as well.

4. What forced the coalition to fail was not the seize-farms agenda...it was a plan to slow down migrants entering the country.

So Rutte wanted to cut migration and now he’s out?

If this is the reason then not good. My sister lived in Amsterdam in the 80s after marrying a Dutch guy and they’re liberal but even they complained about the 3rd world immigrants. There were stories of slaughtering animals in apartments and the blood draining down into the apartment below. Etc.

My brother in law (highly educated) seems more accepting of authority than many of us Americans who have a history of rebellion in our veins.

Macron is president in a republic with a seven year term of office. No king to approach nor parliamentary coalition necessary.

Last year, 2022, some scandal brewed up in a refugee center(overcrowded). Rutte came up to the 4 party coalition and said he wanted a monthly limit on ‘family-members’ coming in. Two of the 4 coalition parties said no way. He finally said either agree or he collapses the government. Well, they figured he was bluffing.

I should note, no matter which party wins....there’s a minimum of a 3 party coalition.

Looks like Globohomo pushed a little too hard.

It's an easy tactical error to make when you believe "history" is on your side.

Dutch BBB-Party is ‘Farmer-Citizen-Movement’ in translation. Before summer of 2019...didn’t exist. For 2021 election...probably had 1-percent of national vote. Presently, because of the invented-farm crisis (by the left-of-center gov’t)....they’ve polled to around 28-percent (leading over all over parties).
